Charm and elegance are captured in a perfectly timeless and sunlit two bedroom apartment at the desirable 45 E 9th, located in the heart of Greenwich Village. Enter the apartment into the spacious dining foyer, featuring two accessible coat closets. This unique and adaptable space is a beautiful introduction to the rest of the home, as it overlooks the grand sunken living room and conveniently connects to the adjoining kitchen. Prepare meals with ease in the sizable kitchen, which features stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher and a wine fridge. Adding to the thoughtful details which enhance your cooking experience, a large window brings in light and frames the oversized farm sink with garbage disposal. To complete this enviable kitchen, you will find a full size washer and vented dryer, as well as an iconic Candace Bushnell-themed half bathroom serving as both art and a conversation piece.

Make your way back through the entry foyer and down the stairs into the elegant and sprawling living room, anchored by a classic wood burning fireplace situated between two large built-in shelving units. Stunning south-facing arched windows drench the space with natural light, highlighting the hardwood floors and soaring ceilings. Additional storage under the stairs and space to install a second wine or beverage fridge further add to the living room’s convenience. Light will glitter throughout the space with a chandelier overhead, offering a classic Pre-war New York City ambiance. Together with the views and ample seating space, this room is perfectly suited for both an evening of entertaining, as well as a peaceful night of cozying up by the fire.

The primary bedroom features southern and eastern-facing exposures, as well as two enormous custom built-out closets for storing all essentials. Experience restful evenings and quiet mornings in this massive bedroom, large enough to fit a king sized bed with end tables. Adjacent to the primary bedroom is the pristine full bathroom, complete with a double vanity, makeup station, and oversized tub and shower combination. Last but not least is the spacious second bedroom. This room can easily transform into a home office if need be, with an eastern exposure and built-in shelving and closet space.

Perfectly nestled on one of the most desirable streets in Greenwich Village, this historic landmarked Co-op oozes with New York City charm. The elegant marble floored lobby adds to the glamour of the building, which features a full-time doorman, live-in super, and laundry room. Only one flight up from the apartment is the beautifully landscaped roof deck with 360 degree views of Greenwich Village. Steps from your front door you’ll find cafes, grocery stores, coveted gourmet restaurants, boutiques, and both Washington Square and Union Square Park. Storage trades with the unit, and there is additional storage on the top floor with a waiting list.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
