Property Description for 380 Lenox Ave, 3-H

Showing by Appointment. This includes open houses. Please contact the listing agent at Brown Harris Stevens for scheduling.

Spanning almost 1,900 square feet at The Lenox, Central Harlem's premier full-service condominium, this convertible 3 bed is the only apartment of its kind with an added powder room. Featuring new oak floors and extensive upgrades throughout, this residence is move-in ready & stands out with a flexible floor plan unlike any other.

The current owners have painstakingly-redesigned the lower level: From the entry, past a dining area closets and powder room, the gut-renovated kitchen takes center stage. Abundant custom cabinetry and a built-in wine fridge give way to an entertainer's dream featuring a Viking range, stainless Bosch appliance suite, and breakfast bar accented by custom pendant lighting and quartz countertops. Beyond the breakfast bar is a spacious living room boasting recessed lighting and sweeping views of the boulevard below. A west/southwest exposure allows for ample natural light throughout the day.

Ascend the stairs to a private upper level where you are greeted by a generously-sized landing. To the left, a king-sized guest room, renovated full bath, two walk-in closets, and den or home office alcove await. To the right, the Owner's Suite stuns with a larger-than-life 11' x 12' closet, renovated en suite bath, and a king-sized bedroom large enough to fit a sitting area, extra home office, or more closets. Both upper level bedrooms showcase open boulevard views and are awash with sunlight. If that wasn't enough, the upper level can be easily reconfigured for up to 2 additional sleeping areas, both with dedicated closets. It's safe to say that this duplex is ideal for both homebodies & entertainers alike and can accomodate a variety of needs & lifestyles.

The Lenox is a full service condominium offering fabulous amenities, low monthlies, and the largest 2-3 bedroom apartments around: 24-hour doorman & concierge, on-site parking garage, fitness center, laundry on each floor, and a gorgeous roofdeck provide everything you need within the comfort of your new home. Take advantage of below-average common charges and a 421-a tax abatement running through 2033.

Surrounded by convenience and a lively social scene, The Lenox is the textbook definition of a prime location: Situated between South Harlem & Morningside Heights, the building is mere blocks to the 2/3 and minutes to the A/C/B/D/4/5/6 trains. Care to stay local? Enjoy a grocrey store on the ground floor, venture to Whole Foods on 125th, or head on over to acclaimed restaurants such as The Red Rooster, Sylvia's, Chez Lucienne, Corner Social and The Harlem Beer Garden.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
