Property Description for 39 Great Jones Street, 3

Your Dream Loft Awaits!   Situated in the heart of Historic NoHo, this expansive full-floor 2,300+ sq foot two bedroom, two bathroom plus home office home is the epitome of a classic downtown loft.  That is if the loft featured as a bonus a serene south-facing terrace overlooking the attended gardens and stunning facade of architecturally significant 40 Bond St.      As you enter through your private keyed elevator you'll be astounded by the abundance of stunning pre-war characteristics - soaring 10-foot pressed tin ceilings, exposed brick, and an original wood-burning fireplace, to list a few.  With its bright north and south exposures, this full-floor unit is a sizable canvas best left to the imagination of you and your architect.  Upon its restoration, it could easily accommodate an en-suite master bath and changing area, an open chef's kitchen, an additional powder room, an enviable media/den area, a laundry room, just to list some of the proposed plans.     39 Great Jones Street is a late 1800's era, intimate co-op in the much-desired landmarked NoHo neighborhood.  Mere steps from some of the best restaurants (Il Buco, Vic's, Gemma, and Bohemian - to name a few), boutiques, galleries, and wellness that New York has to offer. Not to mention eight subway lines.     Positioned at approximately $1040 per sq foot, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better bang for the buck for a quintessential downtown loft!  A large storage unit in the basement is deeded to the property.

Noho | Manhattan

Quick Profile

NoHo, an acronym for North of Houston, is a trendy neighborhood with expansive lofts, chic shops, and hip eateries. It was once part of Greenwich Village, but as New York City changes and coolness always redefines itself, the neighborhood, which is more like a small nook, has morphed into a happening secession of its own.

Like many New York City neighborhoods, the boundaries are subjective and the exact location always depends on who you ask. Generally, NoHo is understood to be bounded by East Eighth Street to the north, East Houston Street to the south, Bowery Street to the east (which becomes Cooper Square north of East Fourth Street), and Broadway to the west.

It’s hard to believe that NoHo was once a sketchy no-man’s land with more than its share of dilapidated structures. These gentrified days, it’s a healthy mix of older buildings, renovated warehouses and newer construction by iconic architects. For such a small area, NoHo has three historic districts that cover much of the neighborhood.

Broadway, Bowery, and Lafayette is the business district of the neighborhood. You’ll find it all in this neck of the woods. From trendy one of a kind retailers to popular brand stores. It rivals its SoHo neighbor in places to shop.

Architecture buffs get your walking shoes on. There are many historical and modern buildings throughout the neighborhood. Colonnade Row, the Cable Building, and the Schermerhorn Building are just a few of the many notable buildings you’ll find.
