Property Description for 201 West 16th Street, 18-D

Rent this jewel box in the sky and pay no fee! 201 W. 16th Street #18D is the perfect New York City oasis, perched high above Chelsea in an immaculate pre-war coop building with three glorious exposures south, east and north with skyline and garden views through casement windows. Garden views, you ask, on the 18th floor? That's thanks to the perfect placement of the greenery from terraces below!

The layout and finishes of this one bedroom home bring to mind the most luxurious of hotels. A windowed, open kitchen with top of the line appliances like Bosch and Bertazonni, Caesarstone counters and backsplash, also offers copious storage space. A dressing area, three large closets, and a spa-like bathroom with Bianco Dolomiti marble walls, Chrome Axor fixtures and another window completes the package. Yes, I keep writing "windows" because there are six in total.

Gorgeous floors, high ceilings, windows and room to live and work make this home a perfect primary residence or pied a terre during these times when the comfort of interior space has become so important.

The top-notch building is kept immaculately, with a full-time doorman and staff, a central laundry and one of the most glorious roof decks downtown.

The location cannot be beat: a stone's throw from both local and express trains including the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, and L and the 14th Street crosstown bus. At your fingertips are all that Chelsea, Flatiron, Meatpacking and the West Village have to offer, such as the Westside Market, Chelsea Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, the HighLine, Chelsea Piers and the phenomenal Hudson River Promenade. The Ladies' Mile offers big and small box shopping, and plenty of take-out is to be had from neighborhood restaurants like Westville, Jack's Wife Frieda, Elmo and Cafeteria. This home is also for sale.

Please, at least 24 hours' notice and covid documents are required for all showings. Unfortunately, pets and shares are not allowed, and a coop application and interview is required. Occupancy May 1, board approval takes 30 days.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
