Property Description for 121 West 19th Street, 3-A

This spacious three-bedroom duplex loft in the heart of Chelsea has gone through a full gut renovation. It was completely transformed and redesigned with a new thoughtful layout. Upon entering the home you are immediately drawn to the dramatic living room with soaring 16-foot ceilings and a wall of oversized windows. Directly adjacent is the open kitchen and dining space. The kitchen features a large wraparound bar topped with a Calacatta Bluette marble slab, professional stainless steel appliances by Viking, and custom cabinetry that provides ample storage. Brand new white-oak plank flooring and custom recessed lighting throughout provide the perfect combination of warmth and elegance. The massive primary bedroom suite is a welcomed retreat with double-height ceilings, a private outdoor terrace, and a massive walk-in closet. The spa-like en-suite bathroom is wrapped in marble and features mosaic tile flooring, a walk-in shower and a separate soaking tub. Both of the secondary bedrooms are pin-drop quiet and feature double-height ceilings with lofted sleeping space above. Finally, head upstairs to the mezzanine level where you'll find the perfect media room and study. Additional apartment features include central HVAC, a full-size washer and vented dryer, radiant heat in both bathrooms, an abundance of storage closets, as well as a separate deeded storage space in the building. Set within the Lion's Head Condominium, residents enjoy a 24-hour attended lobby, common rooftop terrace with spectacular views, live-in resident manager, and a separate video intercom security system all with easy access to Chelsea, Union Square and Flatiron neighborhoods.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
