Property Description for 252 Seventh Ave, 18-E

Showings begin on March 1st! Breathtaking, panoramic, protected views are perfectly framed via six over-sized windows facing north that fill this gut-renovated ultra-sophisticated home with light all day long. With almost 40 feet of northern frontage, this open plan allows for a gracious entertaining space that can be closed off via large floor-to-ceiling sliding doors to create a second bedroom suite if desired. Perched on a high floor, a few moments from the building's enormous roof terrace, this apartment has been exquisitely renovated to the most exacting standards. A sleek kitchen with high-end appliances welcomes the demanding chef, and the marble bathrooms are Architectural Digest-worthy in their esthetics, detailing, and quality. The Primary Suite is a sanctuary of refinement with dreamy closets and an en suite bathroom with a generously proportioned shower stall. This elegant home features polished Walnut paneling details as well as full AV systems that control audiovisuals and electronic shades. The apartment can be sold furnished: It was used as a pied-a-terre so everything is very lightly used. The Chelsea Mercantile is a full-service luxury Condominium with a recently renovated lobby with 24-hour doorman services, parking with direct elevator access, a state-of-the-art gym, a children's playroom, an in-house laundry/dry-cleaning valet service, supplemental laundry facilities (the unit has a washer-dryer too), and an enviable landscaped roof terrace. This location nestled between centrally positioned Madison Square Park and Hudson Yards/West Chelsea is rich in amenities, with a Whole Foods Market at your doorstep, and Eataly, Chelsea Market, Trader Joe's, to name a few, close by. Additional nearby attractions include The Highline and Hudson River Parks, Chelsea Piers, The West Chelsea Arts District with over 400 of the world's leading contemporary galleries, and Madison Square Park just two blocks away. The brand new Moynihan Station and Fashion Institute of Technology are a few blocks away too. Ongoing Capital Assessment of $223.75 Facade Capital Assessment of $320.27 Thru February 2022

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
