Property Description for 195 Spencer Street, 8-B

A Charming, Modern Home **If open house is posted, it is important to call to schedule an appointment during that time frame.** Open house by appointment only. 195 Spencer 8B is a light-filled, legal 1-Bed home, defined as a 2-Bed, with a balcony, that delivers on everything the modern buyer needs and wants--space, outdoor space, beauty, and the right amenities. 195 Spencer is in an intimate 18-unit condominium on a beautiful, tree-lined street in Clinton Hill, where everything you need and want you can have. And that means a lot for New York City. From the moment you enter this extraordinary home directly from the keyed elevator, it is clear this residence was designed with intention and to ensure joy. Natural light pours in making its already generous 891 square feet feel bigger. Off the spacious living room, a balcony provides uninterrupted, gorgeous views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines. The open layout allows these views to be enjoyed from this home’s environmentally-friendly, masterful kitchen. The kitchen was designed to equally serve preparing feasts and entertaining guests. Over 8 feet of functional, naturally dyed and sealed solid maple counters complement modern shaker cabinetry, subway tiles, and brand new, premium appliances [Bosch, LG, and Samsung]. And the dining nook off the kitchen has a stunning, driftwood focal wall that provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying meals with family and friends. The bedrooms are equally amazing, with large footprints and huge windows. It is worth noting that this home’s intentional design even extends to the walk-in-closet, which is White ash complemented by a walnut stain wood trim, with the necessary cabinetry to house a fashionable wardrobe. When the bath is considered--a recently renovated, industrial farmhouse-inspired retreat--it is extremely clear that this is what luxury is supposed to be. This home is where beauty and function meet. 195 Spencer is in the culturally rich Brooklyn neighborhood of Clinton Hill. The allure of multiple shopping districts, acclaimed restaurant rows, and exceptional convenience have people from all over the world flocking to this eclectic area. Two train lines, almost a dozen bus lines, and the Long Island Rail Road service this neighborhood. Ten-to-twenty-minute commutes put you in Downtown Brooklyn [The Barclays Center, B.A.M., City Point] and Manhattan. What’s not to love? Find Your Sweet Spot. Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
