Property Description for 329 Stuyvesant Ave

In the heart of historic Stuyvesant Heights lies 329 Stuyvesant Ave: a stunning, gut-renovated 1899 wood frame home on a unique corner lot with a two car garage. The 19-foot wide by 60-foot deep home boasts 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Beautiful oak flooring has been laid throughout, and there is a new roof, new mechanicals, and a 2-zone central air conditioning system with smartphone temperature control. The entry floor features a gracious open floor plan. A living room greets you upon entry with a gorgeous Italianate wood burning mantle and wainscoting. The wainscoting extends into the spacious dining room with a bay window for an additional breakfast nook. The eat-in chef’s kitchen is out of a Nancy Meyer’s film, with floor-to-ceiling custom white cabinetry, island, marble countertops, and top-of-the-line Viking, Miele, and Bertazzoni appliances. The kitchen features a sliding glass door, leading you down a steel deck to your incredible rear yard. The unique double lot allows the home extra depth, a charming front yard, a full-sized rear yard, windows on three sides, and a private two-car garage. All bedrooms occupy the second floor, including the primary suite with a custom, built out walk-in closet and primary bath with double vanity; this room bathes in western light through 3 huge, new windows. The two other bedrooms are generously sized, with custom closets and windows overlooking the garden; they share a full marble bath in the hallway. There’s a bonus third floor room that makes for an excellent home office, playroom, exercise studio, media lounge, guest suite, or wherever your imagination takes you. The home also has a finished basement with a home sauna, laundry room, and full bath. A rare find in the heart of Stuyvesant Heights, 329 Stuyvesant marries the old and the new in a perfectly laid out home configured as a single-family. Mere blocks from the Utica express train, getting in and out of the neighborhood is a breeze. Within the neighborhood is a trove of wonderful restaurants and cafes, including Saraghina, Peaches, Chez Oskar, L’Antagoniste, and more!

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
