Best kept secret in Manhattan! Rare opportunity for those who appreciate comfortable spacious living alongside tranquility, location, convenience, and value. Lovingly occupied and cared for by an artist couple for decades, this oversized 2BR/1BA in an elevator building offers a substantial private terrace, adult-sized rooms, uncommon privacy, and views of gorgeous protected greenery paired with downtown NYC's iconic cityscape. Awaiting your modern design updates. Incredibly low monthly costs ($785) and easy access to all downtown attractions and transportation complete the picture.

Centrally located with every possible convenience within a few blocks, this expansive home can be your quiet sunlit oasis. Take the elevator to the 6th floor and enter this corner unit to find a sizable entry foyer, a well-appointed kitchen (ample counter and storage space), and a double-wide main room flooded with light and tree-top views. Eat at a grand table in the dining area with your guests, relax in the double-width living room, step directly out to your large private balcony (large enough to dine here as well), or just spend quiet time in this room enjoying the stunning views of your planted terrace garden with dense tree-tops in the background. Farther into the home you will find 2 large bedrooms (one is larger yet both are very sizable), a simply yet tastefully finished bathroom with full-sized tub, and lots of closets and storage in all parts of this remarkably well-proportioned apartment. Amazingly relaxing and private home with exceptional light and supreme quiet. Watch snow collect on tree-tops in winter with views through your wall of West-facing windows, enjoy reading the paper with morning coffee just steps from your kitchen on your own private outdoor space the rest of the year, and evening vistas from the terrace provide gorgeous sunset colors as a backdrop to the Woolworth Building and Freedom Tower. Life here is very good, and offers the best of all worlds. This well-managed cooperative is also very financially sound, and the remarkably low monthly maintenance of $785 includes heat, water, electric, and taxes.

Seaport District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Seaport District sits between the Financial District to the south and the Brooklyn Bridge to the north. The original Seaport designation was limited to the streets east of Water Street from Fletcher Street to Dover Street and incorporated the actual Seaport and the piers. But no more. Today, the neighborhood boundaries have expanded westward toward Park Row and include a surge of new developments in the area around Pace University and City Hall Park.

This is not your father’s Seaport. It is no longer a commercial hub and the seafood industry, which operated out of the port for nearly two hundred years, has been displaced. The older low-rise buildings that line these cobblestoned streets have been repositioned, the SouthBridge towers complex to the east of Water Street has gone free market, multiple commercial buildings have been converted to residential usage and new gleaming residential towers are rising on the site of the iconic J&R Music World which once lined the east side of Park Row.

Still, the Seaport is a small neighborhood, particularly quaint just north of Beekman Street. The streets are dominated by century-old warehouses and maritime buildings which gives the neighborhood its overt character. The Brooklyn Bridge, on its northern edge, looms in the backdrop.
