Property Description for 162 Stanhope Street, 1

No fee!

Everyday is a staycation in this spa-like, fully renovated 2 bedroom plus windowed home office. This massive floor through boasts 10' ceilings, a huge landscaped private backyard and a loft like open layout.

Pamper yourself in the oversized wetroom with XL steam shower, two shower heads, stone bench, and deep soak tub with hand shower.

The modern kitchen has state of the art appliances including a dishwasher, 5 burner gas range, garbage disposal, and 36" French door stainless steel refrigerator. Entertaining is easy with a massive Caesarstone peninsula between the kitchen and the living room.

Connected to the living room is a den/home office which is flooded with natural light from the 2 skylights above. This room doubles as a guest room, but could easily be converted to a third bedroom. Sliding glass doors in the den open up to the manicured backyard complete with concrete pavers and a large planter box with built in bench, all surrounded by a custom built cedar fence.

The bedrooms are split with one just inside the front door and the other overlooking the garden in the back allowing for privacy. Each comfortably fits a queen sized bed. The larger bedroom is lined wall to wall with floor to ceiling closets. There is so much storage in this apartment! There are additional built-in storage cubbies throughout the apartment, plus a huge coat and utility closet.

A front loading washer and vented dryer are included and there is even a powder room for guests.

The apartment is located in prime Bushwick, with all of the best bars, restaurants and galleries at your doorstep. A huge grocery store is just around the corner. Maria Hernandez park is just 5 minutes away with shaded benches, a playground, dog run and the Farmer's Market on Saturday. The location is perfect for commuting to anywhere in the city - just a quick walk to the Central stop on the M or the Dekalb stop on the L.

Available May 1st, just in time to plant your spring garden!

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
