Property Description for 333 Park Ave South, 5-A

Housed in the former glass factory of Louis Comfort Tiffany, this unique and historic Flatiron home provides the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor living. With soaring ceilings reaching just under 14 feet in most of the apartment as well as a stunning, oversized glass skylight in the living/dining area, this loft is bathed in sunlight throughout the day and is an entertainer's dream. The living/dining area features a wall of custom-built closets which provide tremendous storage. There is an open chef's kitchen with gorgeous Caesterstone countertops, tiled backsplash, top-of-the-line Wolf induction range and Jenn-air oven, and terrific storage space, as well as your own Washer/Dryer. The oversized spa-like bathroom has a beautiful walk-in rain shower and skylight. And if all of this were not enough, off of the living room there is a stunning, landscaped roof-deck terrace measuring in excess of 400sf for the best of outdoor entertaining. Additional features in this special apartment include central HVAC, dark-stained hardwood floors in fantastic condition, and great storage. Located at the intersection of Flatiron and Nomad, this self-managed, boutique coop is a mix of residential and small commercial tenants and has a long and storied history of housing and entertaining some of the all time artistic greats such as Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollack, Richard Serra, Faye Dunaway and John Chamberlain, to name just a handful. This well-maintained historic building has a full-time superintendent and key-elevator entry, and is a stone's throw from Madison Square Park, all of the wonderful shops and restaurants of Nomad, Gramercy and Chelsea/Flatiron. Sorry no dogs permitted.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
