Property Description for 232 East 6th Street, 2-D

Spacious & Sun-filled East Village Classic, pre-war One Bedroom home. The high ceilings allow for a loft-like feel of the spacious living room with big windows and views of the gardens and trees. The living room also has a modest kitchen along one wall. The bedroom has custom built-ins: cedar lined cabinets for folded clothing & a queen sized “captain's bed” with 8 drawers beneath. Additionally there is a 16’ closet wall with cherry wood floor to ceiling doors, which when closed look to be wall paneling, providing extensive hang space, some double hung, with storage shelves above for maximum storage. The bathroom was recently renovated with marble throughout. This well maintained elevator building is situated on a tree-lined stretch between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, just steps from Astor Place, subways, theaters, restaurants, bars, and more. It is a well maintained Co-op, pet-friendly, laundry room and a shared sunken garden with benches and tasteful landscaping. Pied-a-terre, parents buying for children & W/D's are permitted.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
