Property Description for 832 Broadway, 5-FLR

Classic elegance best describes this mint and meticulously renovated full-floor residence combining the grand layout and flow of a palatial Uptown apartment with the relaxed sensibilities of a Downtown loft. Located in a landmarked 19th-century building where Greenwich Village meets Union Square, you'll find this sprawling 4,100 square foot home featuring grand-scaled entertaining space and a thoughtfully designed layout with pin-drop quiet privacy and luxurious finishes throughout.

Step off the key-locked elevator to a gracious entrance foyer where dramatic double doors lead to an impressive ballroom-sized Living room with 12-foot ceilings, wide-plank oak floors and open views of the surrounding historic district from a wall of double-glazed picture windows. Custom moldings and milled cabinetry add warmth and sophistication to the room while nearby, mahogany doors open to a private office offering bright afternoon light and more views. Continue past the Living room to find a large formal Dining area which easily seats 12 guests, and an incredible state-of-the-art chef's kitchen ideal for staging memorable dinner parties and events. Clearly designed for one who loves to cook and entertain, the enormous chef's kitchen features a vast center-island topped with exotic marble and offers endless custom cabinetry, a large separate pantry closet, and top-of-the-line Miele, SubZero, Viking and Kitchen Aid appliances including an oversized refrigerator, double sinks, 2 dishwashers, additional beverage refrigerators, double wall ovens, a 6-burner gas range with vented hood, a warming drawer, a built-in microwave and a 48 bottle temperature-controlled wine refrigerator.

Beyond the entertaining space, a wide Library with custom milled bookshelves separates the public from private areas of the home and leads to 3 oversized bedrooms and 2 beautifully renovated marble bathrooms. The grand Master Bedroom Suite is a serene sanctuary lined with floor-to-ceiling closets and features a separate sitting area, an enormous custom fitted walk-in closet, and a gorgeous marble and mahogany en-suite bathroom replete with double sinks, a glass-enclosed shower with built-in bench, and an oversized whirlpool tub. The two additional bedrooms are generously sized and offer copious amounts of storage and shared access to a stunning marble bathroom. At the opposite end of the loft, you'll find yet another large guest room with its own en-suite bathroom which can easily convert to an office, staff room or gym. Every inch of this incredible home has been carefully considered and curated with the utmost comfort and luxury in mind. From the exquisite millwork, to the solid core doors, to the hand-crafted moldings, no expense was spared! And of course, you'll find all of the amenities one would expect from a home of this caliber: multi-zoned central air conditioning, a custom A/V system with in-ceiling speakers in all major rooms, a large separate laundry room, an oversized utility room with tremendous storage, custom Lutron lighting on dimmers, and a tasteful powder room for guests.

All this, in an established and financially sound coop right in the heart of Greenwich Village featuring an elegant lobby, refurbished key-locked passenger and freight elevators, a video intercom security system, visiting superintendent, and bike storage. And of course, there's the prime location putting you right at the crossroads of Greenwich Village and Union Square with the neighborhood's best restaurants, shopping, schools, movie theaters, Whole Foods, the vibrant Farmers Market and all major subway lines right at your doorstep. Enjoy space, comfort and maximum convenience with the best that Downtown has to offer!

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
