Property Description for 452 West 19th Street, 4-C

Architect-transformed loft condo in the epicenter of prime Chelsea This stunning 1100-sq-ft loft home has been completely reimagined and lovingly outfitted by its architect owners. One glance tells you this is not a cookie cutter apartment, but a one-of-a-kind transformation – a pre-war space magically transported to contemporary Chelsea. Original details such as wooden beams, an exposed white brick wall and high ceilings set the home apart. Yet the space also exudes a sleek, no-expense-spared modernity – from the individually programmable Lutron lighting with voice control, to the custom designed doors with concealed hinges and Japanese leather-wrapped pulls. The ingenious layout has 1 bedroom and a flexible home office/guest room, 1.5 baths and a tremendous amount of intelligently designed, custom closets. Facing south and extremely quiet, it’s an easy home to decompress in. The kitchen is custom designed with stained white oak veneer, Paonazzo marble countertop and backsplash, full height pantries, Miele appliances (fridge, convection oven, microwave, warming drawer, dishwasher) and Dornbracht fixtures. The primary bedroom is ample enough for a king-sized bed and a full wall of custom 24”-deep closets. Details such as electrical outlets inside the closets allow you to charge your electronics discreetly. The flex space can be used as you wish – as a home office, guest room, nursery or den. Leave it open and it integrates into the living area, or close the specially-designed bi-fold doors for privacy. This space also features custom built in shelves with integrated LED lighting and a handy closet. The master bath is a stunner, with honed 1" Calacatta marble tiles in shower and built-in mirrored medicine cabinet with integrated outlets. The half-bath makes ingenious use of space, with Nero Marquina marble flooring, and a bespoke vanity & sink of Calacatta marble. Additional features include newly re-finished wood flooring, a floating custom closet with integrated LED lighting in the foyer entry and cove lighting throughout. 452 West 19th is a discreet pre war condo building that was once a horse stable. Its low monthlies and location in the heart of Chelsea, close to transportation, restaurants, galleries, markets and the High Line Park make this apartment is a must-see!

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
