Property Description for 338 West 19th Street, 1-A

Fall in love with this elegant duplex on one of West Chelsea’s most sought-after treelined blocks. This one of a kind home includes an in-unit washer and dryer, split system air-conditioning units on each floor, and striking Scandinavian hardwood floors throughout. Exceptionally designed and developed by MySuites & Company, this elegant apartment offers an efficient layout as well as a quiet retreat from city life. With a liberal sublet policy, this intimate cooperative offers the convenience of a condominium with unlimited subletting after two years of residency. The parlor floor has a seamless flow. The cozy living room, with its big picture window, captivates with exposed brick and a decorative fireplace. The chef’s kitchen satisfies with a Carrara marble countertop, custom cabinetry and high-end appliances including a Bertazzoni Pro Range and Beko dishwasher. Tucked away behind a pocket door, is a beautifully tiled full bathroom including a soaking tub and window for natural ventilation. Doubling the space, the lower level is ventilated by four windows and offers the ideal place for quiet contemplation or working from home. The front room contains a built-in platform customized to fit a king mattress with storage drawers beneath. Another functional highlight is the hallway of custom closets leading toward the marble powder room with a heated towel rack. The coolest feature is a dual-purpose barn door that slides to hide the lavatory while revealing access to the washer/dryer (and vice-versa). If your heart is melting over the staging, the owner is willing to include all of the furnishings for a full price offer. 338 West 19th Street is a well maintained and professionally managed 18-unit pre-war cooperative with an elevator. The board offers great flexibility allowing pets as well as co-purchasing, parents buying for children, gifting, and pied-a-terre ownership on a case-by-case basis. It is close to The High Line, Chelsea Market, a myriad of art galleries, and a plethora of swanky bars, restaurants and shops. It is also in immediate proximity to Google, NYU, and FIT. Make this home to one of your best investments and contact us for a tour of this special unit.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
