Property Description for 155 West 11th Street, 11-D

This tower residence is located on a high floor of the recently-completed Greenwich Lane enclave of high-end residences in the heart of New York's elysian Greenwich Village. The residence offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, flooded with light, with exquisite custom millwork and stonework throughout.

Located in a contemporary tower of this attractive collection of historic and new structures, the heart of the 1,515 square foot unit is the large great room that opens out onto the city as its own great public venue, by way of a Juliette balcony framed in floor-to-ceiling glass double doors. To the rear of the space, the open-plan Chef's kitchen offers Subzero, Wolf, and Miele appliances, placed within custom paneled walnut cabinetry and veiny gray marble countertops and backsplashes. Kitchen fittings are from the Waterworks Aero Retro line by Thomas O'Brien. The adjacent foyer adds an air of formality to the residence while providing easy access to the great room and kitchen.

The master bedroom provides two oversized windows with western exposure, a large walk-in closet, and a generous master bathroom with custom vanity, mosaic marble floors with radiant heating, and a glass-enclosed shower. The adjacent guest bedroom has exposure in two directions and its own bath, and the unit also provides a powder room and in-unit washer and dryer.

The Greenwich Lane is a charming collection of residential buildings and townhouses organized around a central garden. The brand new development is a combination of new construction and thoroughly updated historic properties, located in one of New York's most iconic neighborhoods and in easy proximity to public transportation. The impressive roster of amenities includes a 24-hour doorman, concierge, fitness and wellness center, 25-meter swimming pool with hot tub, golf simulator, residents' lounge and dining room with chef's kitchen, separate catering kitchen, screening room, children's playroom, and bicycle storage room.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
