Property Description for 181 Seventh Ave, 4-D

There's no better time to sip wine and listen to the birds sing in this glorious outdoor space! Come quickly to savor the enormous, east-facing balcony at 181 7th Avenue #4D, a fantastic, corner alcove studio in a full-time doorman condo in prime Chelsea.

The balcony, and the apartment, face the tranquil back of the building to mature trees and backyards. When passing through the glass sliding doors back into the studio, you'll relish newly refinished, natural wood floors, the space to breathe, and the sunlight from east and south exposures.

You'll enjoy the surprisingly (for a studio) massive, U-shaped kitchen that boasts mahogany cabinets complemented by a stainless steel Frigidaire dishwasher, stove and microwave, as well as a full sized refrigerator. The amount of cabinet and drawer space is a pleasant surprise for a studio. The Corian counters include a large peninsula for cook prep with a breakfast bar that easily doubles as a work-from-home space.

The alcove offers natural separation for sleeping and living spaces. In addition to the roomy, renovated, full bathroom, there is are three closets including a large double closet in the entry way.

The Atrium is a 45-unit boutique condominium in the absolute center of Chelsea, with a laundry room, bike storage and a 24 hour doorman. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Bed Bath & Beyond, Chelsea Market, and Home Depot are just some of the many neighborhood shopping opportunities. Perched on the edge of Meatpacking, Greenwich Village and the West Village, the home is close to amazing downtown restaurants, cultural destinations and nightlife. It's also between the Hudson River Promenade and Madison Park. 181 Seventh Avenue #4D is close to most major subways including 1, 2, 3, A, C, D, F, M, B, N, Q, R, W. Pets and guarantors considered but no smoking please.

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
