Property Description for 2 Cornelia Street, 306

Located where Greenwich and West Villages meet, get the best of all worlds in an expansive loft-like 1BR/1BA full service condo rental at 2 Cornelia Street. This property, #306, has extraordinary ceiling height and walls of windows with a variety of exposures. Say no more to the dime-a-dozen, cookie-cutter properties — this unique layout offers flexibility, charm, and remarkable character. Upon entry, one immediately feels the volume of space with the 11’+ ceilings and oversized windows with multiple exposures. The wonderful, sun soaked living room, measuring nearly 400sf, has three large northwest facing windows looking over charming Cornelia Street with tree top views and open sky above. As an added bonus, this room comes outfitted with a custom built home office work station wrapping another windowed corner – a rare and enticing offering in our post-office work culture. The open concept chef’s kitchen features stainless steel appliances, gas cooktop and stove, dishwasher, with generous cabinet storage space. Just off the living room is another large closet that leads onto the newly renovated bathroom and a private, king-sized bedroom. The rear facing bedroom has a window with breakthrough southeast views and of Greenwich Village beyond. Quiet and tranquil, the bedroom has a unique shape that allows for ample furniture and a potential sitting area and also features a large double wide custom outfitted closet. Hardwood floors throughout, as well as thru-wall air conditioners and a washer/dryer in unit. This full-service boutique condo building has a 24 hour doorman, live-in resident manager, a newly renovated central laundry, and a fantastic roof deck with panoramic views. Two Cornelia Street, located on the west side of 6th Avenue, is a unique flatiron-style building distinct in it’s own right from the surrounding neighborhood makeup of low-rise buildings. Built in 1900, the building features heavy floor plates, 11’ beamed ceilings, and unique layouts as it was originally a light manufacturing building. Converted to luxury condominium in 1981, Two Cornelia is now a historic landmark on a charming 1 block long street between West 4th and Bleecker. Conveniently located near some of the best restaurants, jazz clubs, bars, and shopping in the neighborhood and just one block from many subway lines (A/C/E/B/D/F/M1/PATH) as well as Washington Square Park and NYU.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
