Property Description for 151 Seeley Street

SWEETNESS & LIGHT!

Serene, calm & bright, this designer restored, three bedroom, 2 bath townhouse offers move-in convenience in Windsor Terrace, one block from Prospect Park. Solidly built, with modern mechanicals, this brick home is located in the center of beautiful, leafy Windsor Terrace on a peaceful and charming tree lined block.

The deep front yard, ever green with ivy and boasting a striking Japanese Maple leads to a sun bathed front porch. The open entry floor reveals preserved original 1930s period details such as wainscoting, moldings, and original oak parquet floors inlaid with mahogany trim. The living room, separate formal dining room, and cooks kitchen with stainless steel appliances, Caeserstone counter tops, a window and a door lead out to the landscaped, low maintenance, backyard -- shaded by a flowering fruit tree and surrounded by ivy.

The three-bedroom upper floor is flooded with light from new skylights and multiple large windows. It boasts high ceilings, a renovated full bath and 5 closets. The finished, full height lower level is easily accessed from both front and back yards, as well as from the new kitchen. It offers another windowed bath, laundry and utility area, a large media/play room with built in storage, and a useful place for all "wheel" items (bikes, stroller, etc). You can own this treasure for the price (or less) of a 3 BR condo and there is good street parking!

Enjoy all that Prospect Park has to offer (free concerts, cultural events, movies, horseback riding, tennis, cycling, dog runs, enjoy picnics, BBQs and Smorgasburg!) VERY nearby neighborhood hot spots include La Paddock, Della, Krupa Grocery, Double Windsor, ELK, Daytime, Farrells, Adirondack, Nighthawk Cinema and a Farmers Market twice a week!

F train is down the street, past a lovely neighborhood commercial area.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
