Property Description for 68 Bradhurst Ave, 8-P

As you step off the vibrant streets of Harlem, you are greeted by a full time doorman/concierge and three elevator banks that swiftly carry you up to your 8th floor modern condo. Kick off your shoes in the entry as you step into this 947 SQFT oasis that feeds your soul with sunlight and tranquility. The sight lines are wide open and you can see the full layout unravel before you. The apartment has a dynamic energy about it; from a fully loaded kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a water sensor in the sink to a mid century inspired dining room with electric and bold artwork dotting the walls. As you wander into the living room, play a vinyl record, jump on your Peloton and stare right out into Jackie Robinson Park with its oversized iconically blue swimming pool, cobblestone steps and meandering green pathways. The light in this place is addicting as it filters through every room and you can see the tree line as well as the sky. The primary bedroom, winged and off to the left, is certainly King-sized and easily accommodates more furniture if you desire. The ensuite bath is sparse and roomy and the walk-in closet is an organizer’s dream. In fact there are so many closets throughout that you can tuck everything neatly out of sight. The secondary bedroom, off to the right and next to the oversized guest bath, is a nice counterpoint and has many possibilities. We have seen it inhabited by roommates, turned into an oversized office, a nursery, an art studio… we will leave this all up to you to decide. Each room is equipped with its own, easily adjustable central heating/cooling system. The Langston, built in 2005, has full-time doormen & concierge, laundry facilities, a landscaped common terrace with play area, fitness center, bike and additional storage as well as on-site parking available. It is also wired for FIOS. Bustling nightlife, restaurants and daily amenities straddle the building with Sugar Hill and Hamilton Heights on one side and Central Harlem on the other. Well appointed transportation options include the A,B,C,D,1,3 trains and multiple bus lines. From magnificent 19th century brownstones to luxurious modern high rises, Harlem is a place that blooms creativity and diversity. Experience its cultural vitality and evolution where every turn you take introduces you to a piece of history that has been preserved and reimagined. There is a lot to explore here and we’d love to show you more. Get in touch and let’s meet.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
