Property Description for 34 Prince Street, PH

The Penthouse of the Residences at Prince is an expansive and airy 3,673 square foot home where indoor meets outdoor, the garden views envelop you in serenity, and the rooftop city views cement your location at the center of historic Nolita. The four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom duplex is a sprawling oasis with stunning interiors, a landmark address and three outdoor spaces.

Enter through the foyer into the Great Room where a working fireplace and exposed brick instantly warms the space and look onto the beautiful garden terrace. A dramatic folding window wall brings the garden terrace into the Kitchen. The open layout is flanked by an exceedingly sleek kitchen featuring custom Balthaup natural aluminum and walnut cabinets, a 7 ft tall pantry, and an island made of Honed natural stone. It is outfitted with top of the line fully-integrated Gaggenau appliances such as wall oven, steam oven, warming drawer, under-counter wine refrigerator, and five-burner cooktop with vented hood.

The open staircase to the upper level overlooks the garden. One bedroom suite and powder room are on the lower level, while the other three bedroom suites and laundry room are located on the upper level. The Primary bedroom suite on the upper level is truly spectacular with a massive windowed walk-in closet and an adjoining balcony. The Waterworks free-standing sculptural bathtub is the centerpiece of the oversized spa-like primary bathroom, as is the steam shower with custom teak shower mat and bench. It features Lithoverde recycled Carrara marble floor, Honed Delmar White marble tile walls, and floating walnut vanity. All bathrooms in the home feature Toto toilet and Waterworks fixtures. A final staircase leads to the private rooftop terrace that looks onto gorgeous city views.

A singular blend of historic and contemporary design, The Residences at Prince are set within the landmarked Old St. Patricks School and Convent. An incredible renovation by Marvel Architects contrasts the Federal style exterior with an exuberant design that brings light and air to the inside, creating private outdoor spaces. Steps from Soho on a corner enjoying churchyard views, the residences are located in picturesque Nolita. Many Manhattan residences are described as unique. None deserve the designation more than The Residences at Prince truly a landmark redefined.

The condominium features an attended lobby, landscaped private common garden, fitness area with state-of-the-art equipment and private yoga studio, climate-controlled wine cellar with private storage, dedicated private storage for each residence, and bicycle storage.

Little Italy | Manhattan

Quick Profile

It’s fitting that the neighborhood’s name is Little Italy because It’s been getting smaller for decades. The Italian immigrants that flooded New York City and built the vibrant ethnic enclave in the 1860s and 1880s eventually left for greener pastures, assimilating into other parts of the city or suburbs. The disappearance of Little Italy is a sad story as far as neighborhoods go, but it’s one that should be told.

Little Italy once spanned 50 square blocks and represented the biggest population of Italian immigrants in America. But in recent years, it’s been squeezed by the growth of Chinatown and SoHo and muscled from the rebranding of other neighborhoods like NoHo and NoLIta. In fact, NoLita was the culprit that cut the neighborhood in two. Little Italy’s boundaries may vary depending upon who you ask. Today it’s down to just a few blocks along Mulberry Street.

One of the best ways to experience Little Italy is through its food. Take your pick from mom-and-pop markets, meat and cheese shops, or authentic sit-down restaurants that offer the very best in Italian cuisine.

Every September (since 1926), the neighborhood hosts the Feast of San Gennaro, which celebrates the patron Saint of Naples Italy. 11 days of food, colorful parades, music performances, and more food. The aroma of zeppole and grilled sausage can be smelt for blocks. Try planning your visit around this festive time. It’s well worth it.
