Property Description for 988 Willoughby Ave, 2

Welcome to 988 Willoughby Avenue, a recently renovated, three bedroom duplex in the heart of Bushwick. This home has been reimagined, by an experienced design team and architect, who have a deep understanding of what both an end user or investor would expect from a properly finished home in Brooklyn.

As soon as you enter the foyer at 988 Willoughby Avenue you will recognize the obvious differences between this home and similar products on the market: both the entryway and living room feature chandeliers, tile and flooring all sourced from bespoke New York vendors. Each of the three bedrooms in the duplex has been exquisitely designed to provide both simplicity and functionality for the future owner.

The rooms each feature modern lighting, hardwood flooring, large windows and exposed brick walls. Because of the exceptional layout of the home, there is an overwhelming sense of privacy in each of the bedrooms. Not only does the upper duplex feature three bedrooms, but it also has three private bathrooms- two on the upper floor, and one on the parlor level.

Each one has been finished with modern tubs, lighting, vanities and colorful cement tiles. These design elements further exemplify the attention to detail exhibited in the home.

Beyond the living area, on the parlor floor, is a perfectly appointed kitchen designed to meet the needs of an owner and their future guests. The space features a Wolf Range, Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator, Bosch Dishwasher and vintage chandelier.

After you pass through the kitchen, and exit the home, you will find yourself standing on a new deck, and recently landscaped back yard. Having a private outdoor space in New York City is a life changing event: any season of the year the owner can utilize this perfectly designed garden, ideal for entertaining or relaxing in the convenience of your home.

Finally all of the mechanicals in 988 Willoughby Avenue have been upgraded. The house features a new boiler, hot water tank, central air conditioning, electric service and plumbing all installed by licensed contractors.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
