Property Description for 5 Tudor City Place, PH-5

DEAL FELL THROUGH - HERE IS YOUR CHANCE IF YOU MISSED OUT THE FIRST TIME. Do not miss out on the opportunity to become the proud new owner of this exceptional, one-of-a kind, triplex Penthouse with its very own private roof terrace. A true oasis in the sky atop the bustling city), this penthouse is so unique and spectacular that even the biggest Hollywood blockbusters filmed here. Fun Fact: Penthouse 5 itself is most famous for being used as ‘The Green Goblin’s Lair’ in all three Spiderman movies. One of the current owners is an acclaimed award winning interior designer that has poured her soul into perfecting and curating this home since 2015; bring your bags and move right into this turn-key home. The Great Room features dramatic proportions of 18-foot ceilings and soaring 15-foot casement windows that overlooks the landmarked, unobstructed midtown skyline as well as the renowned Chrysler Building. There is a “speakeasy” powder room hidden behind a beautiful custom European wall mural doorway and the mural extends and is perfectly matched throughout the room. The oversized 1920s era wood-burning fireplace was remodeled to match the original mantel mirror and original molds, and the herringbone floors were recently completely refinished. The elegant wrapping staircase was not only refinished but customized with hand-painted cast iron stair railing décor that brings guests to the upper level. The second level of this trophy home comes with a renovated kitchen with brand new GE appliances (over-the-range microwave, gas range, dishwasher). It even has a coveted in-unit LG washer/dryer unit. There is a dining gallery adjacent the kitchen that overlooks the Great Room and the oversized casement windows (currently used as a study). The master bedroom features two custom built-out walk-in closets as well as two additional linen closets and an en-suite master bathroom. The bathroom vanity was refinished with hand-painted countertops, 2 hand-carved Venetian mirrors, new chrome and crystal fixtures, a deep soaking tub, and is even outfitted with a heated towel rack. The third floor is now one of the most searched keywords and one of the most coveted features of all New York City apartments – a “private outdoor terrace”. The nearly 300 sqft private space is large enough where there is a Pergola outfitted with custom sunbrella drapes, as well as benches that convert into sunlounge chairs. There is also a small bistro table and chairs for you to enjoy a quiet cup of morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
