Property Description for 181 Hudson Street, 4-BC

Great expectations at Vestry Place. 181 Hudson Street Apt 4BC.
Low monthlies, and a LOT of space - the perfect combination.
Exceed your expectations with this fabulous Tribeca loft condominium.

Just shy of 3000 sq ft, this expansive combination loft offers 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 bonus rooms ( a library/office and a den/guestroom). With demand for larger homes on the rise, this gracious home not only ticks all those "work and play from home" boxes, but it does so with low monthlies and at a very attractive price per square foot for this tony Tribeca neighborhood.

The entrance gallery has two large closets. To the right is a custom closet space that doubles as a mudroom, outfitted with shelves and cubbies - where there is a space for everything, and everything has its place. To the left there is a second large closet and a seating area, where you can take off the outside world before settling in, as well the first of three full bathrooms. (Wash those hands!)

Down the hall, tucked away behind two pocket doors is a walnut paneled library/home office that is not only useful and purposeful, but also beautifully designed! Custom shelving, a built in desk, a hand painted mural and a secret hideaway wine cave are just a few details to mention. Across the hall, behind beautifully crafted carved solid wood panel doors, is a huge multipurpose room with two gigantic storage closets. Currently being used as a guest room, this space can easily be transformed into a kid's playroom/learn from home space or a media room - whatever suits your needs.

Onto the open living room and dining room spaces - here the beauty of the 11 ft high beamed ceilings and red oak hardwood flooring are highlighted by the exceptional sunlight from four over sized windows throughout the day, and by the warmth of the architectural recessed light throughout the evening. There are Lutron dimmer switches throughout, industrial grade, independently controlled central HVAC, Somfy powered window shades (solar and blackout) on all windows and a 3 zone Sonos sound system to add music to your life as well as gas insert fireplace help set the mood.

The masterfully designed open kitchen is a chef's dream! Fully vented and with an oversize Carrera marble, waterfall island, and equipped with top of the line appliances, including a cook-top that faces the dining area. Sleek custom cabinetry and tons of storage makes for a seamless transition from everyday living to entertaining.

One of the features of this thoughtfully designed combination apartment is the bedrooms have that coveted "split layout" design - with the main bedroom to the north of the apartment and two additional bedrooms on the south side. The master-suite has a tailor made, upholstered velvet headboard that hides away the entrance to one of the two industrial strength HVAC units. As a BIG BONUS the current owners designed a walk-in closet, complete with a built in vanity, chandelier, shelving and hanging rods that can be easily tweaked to your own personal wardrobe needs.

Another bonus: A separate 279 sq ft laundry room and private storage closet with full height ceilings is just across the hallway. Outfitted with a washer/dryer AND a full size refrigerator, there is room for all of your pantry needs as well as bike storage with plenty of space to spare.

181 Hudson is a 26 unit, eight-story Loft condominium with elevator in the Northern Tribeca Historic District with entrances conveniently located on both Vestry and Hudson streets. You will be surrounded by cobblestone streets, fabulous dining options and all of the excellence Tribeca has to offer. Soho, Hudson Square, and the West Village as well as the A/C/E/1 trains are just a short trek outside your front door.

Monthly assessment if $751.53 in place through 2023 for roof work, already in progress.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
