Property Description for 35 Lawton Street, 1

Here’s a great opportunity to rent a 3 bedroom apt with backyard/outdoor space in this highly competitive market. This is the one. It’s a quiet, spacious, 3 bedroom and the Bushwick area is fantastic. The unit’s features include north eastern exposure, large windows, and hardwood floors throughout. High ceilings and a decorative fireplace add to the apartment’s likable charm. In addition to the above, the rental comes with an in-unit thermostat. The nearby laundromat is a big time-saver. The windows pour in plenty of sun to brighten up the space even during a mid-winter day. The apartment’s kitchen was recently renovated and has hardwood floors, new countertops, a galley layout, and a window. You’ll find a electric oven, a full-sized refrigerator and plenty of storage The master bedroom has windows that open, a decorative fireplace, and hardwood flooring. It’s a large bedroom. You should be able to fit a king size bed. The other 2 full size bedrooms are very large and each feature a built in closet. Master bedroom can be converted into a ART STUDIO SPACE. Inside the recently renovated bathroom you’ll find a soaking tub, a medicine cabinet, a standard shower, marble finishes, and good storage. You’ll find the window in the bathroom to be a nice addition. It’s rare in NYC, at this price range, to find a building that’s loved by tenants, rarely available, and well maintained. This building is exactly that. The building features security cameras, on street parking, and a front door buzzer. The building is situated on a beautiful residential block Lawton Street just one minute to the J, M and Z lines. The hip and lively Bushwick neighborhood offers many area favorites.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
