Property Description for 226 Stanhope Street, 1-A

OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY 9/18 11AM-1PM

Welcome to 226 Stanhope Street, #1A, a super stylish 1,100 sq' duplex apartment, situated in the heart of Bushwick! This expansive apartment features a huge private backyard, soaring 9 1/2' high ceilings and and a very flexible layout.

The apartment runs the entire length of the 60' building giving it both East and West exposures. This duplex has designer touches throughout and feels like a real home, not a cookie cutter apartment.

The open kitchen features stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher and microwave. The bathroom is finished with Toto fixtures, Caesarstone vanity, and a deep soak tub.

In addition to the primary bedroom, living room and dining area on the first floor, there is room for a home office and a huge laundry closet complete with your own washer and vented dryer. This is a very flexible space with lots of options for working at home.

Downstairs, the finished "recreational room" makes a great family room, artist/musician's studio and can also double as a 2nd bedroom. Tons of storage can be found throughout the apartment and if that is not enough, a huge walk in closet finished with an antique barn door has been added downstairs.

The huge private garden has been custom designed with concrete pavers, a modern fence, and pergola. This lush outdoor space is yours exclusively and is perfect for outdoor entertaining. Invite the crew for a backyard barbeque or cocktail party under the stars.

226 Stanhope Street is located in prime Bushwick, with all of the best bars, restaurants and galleries at your doorstep. This area is foodie heaven! Faro, Dromedary Bar, Mominette, Le Garage, Sally Roots, Roberta's and Mission Chinese are all right here. Maria Hernandez park is just 5 minutes away with shaded benches, a playground, a dog run and the Farmer's Market on Saturday.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
