Property Description for 133 Bergen Street, C

This is the perfect historic designer home in Boerum Hill that you have been waiting for. Located just one flight up in a charming corner brownstone, this wonderfully maintained two-bedroom, two bath home with a 465 SF private terrace offers a real wood-burning fireplace, windows and light on three sides, high ceilings, and notable details galore including hardwood floors, graceful arched entranceways, custom plaster moldings, oversized windows, and an original marble mantle. This gem is situated in the most convenient spot in Brooklyn, steps to all transportation and every amenity you could ever imagine, but feels like a country home with its treetop views and low-rise historic neighbors.

Enter into a loft-like living room with a nod to Mid-Century design, and prepare to be greeted by huge South and West facing windows, a split bedroom layout, a renovated and windowed galley kitchen, and your very own LG washer and dryer. Dramatic pickled oak floors throughout add to the bright and sunny feeling of this wonderful home. The designer kitchen was renovated just a few years ago and includes flat front modern cabinetry, a rich yet minimalist honed marble countertop and backsplash, Miele cooktop and oven, and a paneled Lieberr fridge. The perfect marriage of old and new also dominates the design of both bathrooms. A newly renovated master bathroom is outfitted with white penny tile, Duravit fixtures, a floating white vanity and an oversized walk-in shower. The second bathroom enjoys a Carrara marble floor, pedestal sink, and a bathtub and shower with a white subway-tile surround. The oversized master bedroom includes a walk-in closet with custom built-ins and oversized windows facing West and North. A second bedroom doesn't disappoint with its South-facing exposure and custom cabinetry.

Head outside from your master suite on to an unexpectedly large landscaped deck that overlooks the mature trees and flowers of the neighboring brownstones and offers an array of greenery that will all be left for the plant-loving new owner. Spacious enough for entertaining, gardening, or just working from home in the fresh air, you will also enjoy a unique view down the tree-lined blocks of this historic neighborhood.

This friendly 5-unit coop welcomes you to the best corner in Boerum Hill. Just a block to all of the amazing artisanal shops and restaurants on Smith and Court Streets and Atlantic Avenue, you also have every subway at your doorstep including F/G/2/3/4/5/A/C. Brooklyn Fare and Trader Joes are down the block for easy grocery shopping, and you can also head over to BAM while enjoying the peaceful green streets of one of Brooklyn's most coveted neighborhoods, just one subway stop to Manhattan. Enjoy all the best of urban life from a sunny perch in Brooklyn! Pet friendly and casual basement storage included.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
