Property Description for 111 Third Ave, 9-JK

Apartment 9JK is an amazing apartment located at the crossroads of the East Village / Union Square / Greenwich Village & Gramercy which has already been combined to make a massive, sun drenched, one of a kind home. Enter this corner unit and be blown away by the enormous living room and dining area with a wall of windows, and beautiful hardwood floors throughout. With a flexible layout, the apartment currently has one large primary bedroom suite (with great closet space, and an en suite marble tile bathroom), plus a second bedroom area (home office / nursery). If desired, another king-sized bedroom can be added with one simple additional wall, giving you the huge primary suite, plus another king-sized bedroom, in addition to the existing third bedroom area. The apartment also has city windows, so it is super quiet. A unique feature is the full laundry room which has not only the washer & dryer, but also functions as a huge storage unit. The renovated windowed kitchen features gorgeous granite counters, matching the breakfast bar area just outside the kitchen, and stainless steel appliances, including a Wolf range and Subzero fridge. The second white marble tiled windowed bathroom has also been renovated. There’s virtually nothing like this apartment on the market – a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment PLUS a home office AND a laundry room in the apartment – while in a doorman building in a central and convenient neighborhood – for this price. An additional bonus: unlimited subletting (after one year of residence) is permitted. 111 Third Ave is a cond-op which also allows co-purchasing and parents buying for kids (on a case by case basis), as well as pied-de-terres, and is pet friendly. The building has a full time doorman; beautifully landscaped roof deck with 360 degree views, a newly renovated courtyard with a basketball court and a BBQ; laundry room and a live in super. Great location, a block from the Union Square subway station (4,5,6,L,N,R,Q,W trains), the Farmer’s Market, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
