The owners have taken the the best of the original details and upgraded them with modern necessities to give you a visually stunning apartment. The extra large bedroom has enough space for a king size bed and a seating area as well as a large closet with excellent storage. The bedroom also boasts crown moldings, the original glass french doors, textured walls, picture frame railings, original wood shutters, and hardwood floors. The sleek and sexy bathroom has all new everything including triple pattern tiling, RADIANT HEATED FLOORS, an over-sized shower with glass doors, built in storage and double headed rainfall shower. The living room has space for an 8’ sofa, while the open plan kitchen has windows overlooking the garden and enough space for a center island and/or dining table. New stainless-steel appliances include a five-burner stove, deep sink with retractable spout, dishwasher and three-door refrigerator. Off of the kitchen you’ll find an in-unit washer/dryer tucked away in a laundry nook. Beyond that, you have a mud room that is great for extra storage. 472 Van Buren Street is located on a quiet and friendly brownstone block in Bedford Stuyvesant on the border of Bushwick —this block is so hot that they have a cool jazz band plus dj at their annual block party. Two blocks away, on Broadway, you have the J/M/Z trains for a 20 minute commute to lower Manhattan. This location also gives you easy access to all of the shops, restaurants, and bars of both Bedford Stuyvesant and Bushwick. Grab this cool deal just in time for the fall / winter season!

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
