Property Description for 143 West 13th Street, 102

MINT Newly Renovated 2-BR/2.5-BTH DUPLEX with PRIVATE PATIO + PRIVATE PARKING in the heart of Greenwich Village! Located on one of Greenwich Village’s most coveted and beautiful tree-lined streets and in a historic, landmarked building, this townhouse style home can be accessed either via the building’s main lobby or a private entrance gate. This spacious 2-bedroom, 2.5 bath duplex home has been gut-renovated to the studs and finished in the highest quality modern materials. Upon entering the main level, you are greeted by soaring 10’ ceilings, wide-plank white oak floors, and a great entertaining space. The living room has plenty of seating space and walls that accommodate large-scale art. The separate dining area features a custom banquette and white oak lighting fixtures. Western light streams through impressive newly installed oversized 9.5’ steel-framed casement French doors which lead directly out to a private patio. The patio is a lush private oasis and extension of the living space, complete with seating and dining areas, as well as plantings that include a mature Japanese maple tree. Adjacent the patio is a highly-coveted private parking space – the only one for the building – equipped with an electric-vehicle charging station and boasting direct access to W. 13th street. The stunning new custom chef’s kitchen is outfitted with a top-of-the-line Thermador appliance package, including five-burner cooktop, smart oven and dishwasher, microwave drawer, as well as a fully integrated refrigerator and a small wine fridge. The range hood is fully vented, and the kitchen also boasts a tremendous amount of storage and counter space, including a breakfast bar/peninsula. The main level also features a powder room, utility closet with full-sized Electrolux washer and vented dryer, and two oversized coat closets. There is additional standing-height storage under the stairs. Ascend the new oak and steel staircase to the second floor sleeping quarters. The king-sized primary suite includes tremendous custom-outfitted closets, as well as a luxurious en-suite bathroom featuring terrazzo floors, large-slab tiled walls, oversized shower, double vanity, and heated towel rack. The nicely proportioned second bedroom also boasts custom-outfitted closets, as well as an alcove perfect for a home office, or sports equipment. The adjacent second bathroom has a deep soaking tub and Waterworks fixtures. The home is wired with Nest system for multi-zone heating and AC, Smart Lutron lighting, as well as SONOS in-ceiling speakers and home security system – all easily controlled remotely by your phone or tablet. Conveniently located at the crossroads of Greenwich Village, West Village, and Chelsea – close to some of the city’s best restaurants, shops, multiple subway lines, as well as the PATH to New Jersey. The Village Mews is a boutique co-op located within a historic Greek Revival Church, originally built in 1846, which retains its original facade with soaring white columns. The impeccably maintained co-op has recently undergone a host of capital improvements including a new elevator, as well as newly designed lobby and common hallways which are presently under construction and set to be completed before closing. Included in the renovations is a new 24-hour virtual doorman system, as well as a package room off the lobby. There is an assessment for these capital improvements of $478 a month that runs through January 2024. Owner/Agent.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
