Property Description for 303 East 8th Street, GARDEN

Located on one of the quietest tree-lined blocks in the heart of vibrant East Village is this rare Garden Apartment at 303 East 8th Street, an expansive 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home with enormous private garden oasis to boot.

Offering the very best of city living, this rare home presents a cosmopolitan lifestyle just a stone's throw from Tompkins Square Park. Upon entry, you'll notice this expansive loft-like home offers generous dimensions, ample storage, and fantastic outlooks with 12 windows across all four exposures.

An entry foyer leads into an expansive Great Room spanning almost 30' while five oversized windows afford the luxury of double North/East exposures. These gorgeous views overlook your serene private garden and provide warm natural light throughout. Lofty 9' ceilings, exposed red brick walls aged with history, and hardwood floors throughout add character and charm to this already impressive residence.

Making your way outside down a short flight of stairs you'll find your private garden retreat with almost 626 square feet of blissful peace; the perfect place to unwind and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Back inside, the apartment's flexible floor plan can be retrofitted into a large 2-bedroom home or even a functional 4-bedroom home. An open-plan windowed kitchen with granite countertops is complemented by quality stainless steel appliances (5-burner gas cooktop, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator) and plenty of storage space for all your cooking needs.

A large primary bedroom includes two large windows while the second bedroom enjoys Southern exposures with double width windows. A spacious windowed bathroom offers a deep soaking tub with large built-in marble deck, plenty of closet space, Miele washing machine, hookup for a ventless dryer, and its own hot water heater/boiler to control the temperature to your liking. The powder room could be built-out to provide a full bathroom (see alternate floor plan).

Private, peaceful, and secluded, this rare sanctuary is located in an enviable position on one of the best blocks in the East Village in a handsome turn-of-the-century building.

Enjoy life in this vibrant community, full of culture, world-class restaurants, shopping, theaters, galleries, parks and more! Not far from Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joe's, Union Market, Essex Market, and Tompkins Square Green Market. You'll also have easy access to the East River park which has a little something for everyone (tennis, jogging and bike trails, parks, playgrounds and more).

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
