Property Description for 57 Wyckoff Street

For the first time ever you will have the opportunity to purchase a magnificent modern townhouse in Brooklyn's coveted Cobble Hill, envisioned and designed by world-class architectural and design firm Workshop/APD, specializing in unrivaled quality and craftsmanship, with a respect for the contextual environment of its creations. This five story, 25 foot wide townhouse, 57 Wyckoff Street, is an extraordinary home that combines the dramatic space and light of an extra deep and wide Brooklyn lot with a minimalist yet rich palette of luxurious organic materials both inside and out. Indulge your desire for indoor and outdoor space in this 7000 SF home, complete with an elevator, 4 bedrooms, a unique and versatile penthouse floor, a 2nd living room or additional bedroom, 4.5 baths, and four unique outdoor spaces. Built from the ground up just three years ago, this trophy property embodies the duality of this tree-lined yet culturally energetic Brooklyn neighborhood by perfectly combining a forward-thinking modern design with the warmth of natural stones and wood throughout. Prepare to be amazed as you are greeted by a striking Anselmo Corso brick, glass and steel facade that takes full advantage of the amazing light and views only afforded by a lot this large (25' x 145') surrounded by low-rise brownstones in the foreground, with the stunning city skyline as your dramatic distant backdrop. Enter the home up a modern stoop into a triple height foyer and parlor floor of oversized proportions that includes a formal dining room with Apparatus chandelier, a jaw-dropping professional kitchen, and an extra-wide living room with 11' ceilings and a sheer wall of glass that perfectly frames the Japanese-inspired minimalist garden in the back. Surrounded by natural light in front and back, the center kitchen is a masterpiece of endless culinary delights. A 60" Capital range offers 6 burners and an open-flame grill in the center. An oversized stainless sink and faucet, 2 Sub-Zero fridge columns and a Sub-Zero freezer column are complemented by a two-sided steel and glass temperature-controlled wine cabinet. Cabinetry in the kitchen has been fashioned from thick rift-cut white oak planks and is juxtaposed with stainless cabinetry and counters, plus a 20' long leather-finished black granite eating island. A walk-in pantry with a wet-bar and coffee station allows you to amass every tool and ingredient you could ever need but keep them discretely hidden away. The next floor up is a magnificent master suite offering endless walls of custom closets, a large deck with incredible light accessible through another curtain wall of glass, an oversized ensuite bathroom, and a private office with leafy views. The floor above the master has been perfectly designed to accommodate two oversized bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bath and a walk-in closet. The views just keep getting better until you reach the penthouse floor, where you will be stopped in your tracks by the city skyline on the North and East sides and a view over the rooftops on the South. Step off the elevator into a kitchenette that includes a sink, fridge and dishwasher, perfect to accommodate your entertaining needs. A large-glass enclosed office, lounge or guest room offers panoramic skyline views, or step outside to a dramatic deck. A steel hot tub in the sky is perfectly hidden from prying eyes by the parapet wall and a screen of greenery. And of course, don't miss the garden level with an ensuite guest bedroom, a well-appointed laundry room and an oversized sitting room that doubles as a Pilates studio and full-sized gym for the current owners. Walk right out from this floor to the custom Corian outdoor kitchen with a wood pellet smoker and grill and ample storage. The garden is also accessible from the parlor floor, offering indoor/outdoor life with ease. There is also a full basement with poured concrete floors and hidden mechanicals for extra storage or work space. An exacting standard of craftsmanship and innovation is evidenced throughout in every single detail including the custom oversized doors, clever TV niches, blackened steel hardware, trimless recessed lighting, wall reveals, and thick slab floating center staircase. Control 4 Lutron panels control every utility in this home including electric shades, lighting, security, music, and ten climate zones for heating and cooling. The warm oak millwork is repeated throughout all five floors in the custom shelving, vanities, doors and moldings. Bathrooms are a study of calming simplicity, juxtaposing warm wood vanities with a repetition of sumptuous Pietra Cardosa and Ann Sacks' Athens Silver Cream marbles that make an appearance in every bathroom as custom built-up sinks, countertops and shower surrounds. The oversized master bathroom is a spa unto itself with its glass enclosed marble wet room, Ceadesign Italian deck mounted faucets and dual shower heads, and a freestanding Wet-style fiberglass tub and oversized basin sink and countertop. The soothing organic materiality of this homes makes the perfect framework for a burgeoning art collection, or just enjoy around-the-clock nature and skyline views. There is no imagining this home without seeing the exactitude of the construction and the innovative nature of a Workshop/APD design in person. As comfortable as it luxurious, and also situated at the crossroads of every desirable Brooklyn brownstone neighborhood, including Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, and Boerum Hill. The best amenities that Brooklyn has to offer are all less than a block away and include award-winning restaurants and shops, artisanal butchers and bakeries, public and private schools, public parks and parking garages. There is truly no home that has ever been offered for sale in brownstone Brooklyn that compares. Parking available for sale or rent a couple of blocks away. Shown by private appointment only.

Boerum Hill | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Boerum Hill is a tiny, quiet, primarily residential neighborhood in Brooklyn. There are broad tree-lined streets that are filled with elegant three and four-story brownstones and townhouses, mostly built between 1840 and 1870. There is a definite family vibe to the neighborhood, but young professionals are moving in, and with them are coming trendy bars to cater to their desire for some measure of nightlife, without having to linger in Manhattan. These new bars and restaurants are being sandwiched in amongst existing shops on both Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, which are the main commercial areas in Boerum Hill.

Boerum Hill offers a convenient location that is still able to maintain its small-neighborhood feel. Shopkeepers value their customers and remember their regulars. It continues to do what it was designed to do, namely provide small-town living in the very shadow of the big city. Boerum Hill is an easy commute to other parts of the city, making it easy to come home every day to the peace and tranquility of Boerum Hill while commuting to a job anywhere in the city.

The neighborhood is quite walkable and you can take the time to catch up with your neighbors while visiting on their stoops. Shopping on Atlantic Avenue is stress-free with no high pressure. You can meet with friends at any of the many coffee shops and while away pleasant hours in conversation. The dining scene on Smith Street is similarly laid-back. Don’t expect that there will be quite as much to see or do as there is in Manhattan, but there are a decent number of interesting bars and restaurants providing a measure of nightlife. The trade-off is worth it, as Boerum Hill provides a quiet, peaceful place to live and raise a family.
