Live in the best elevator building in Forest Hills!  I have been a resident for 38 years and can say this property is a great place to cal home.

When entering you are greeted by two spacious coat closets leading to the foyer which makes a great extra space for; home office, library, or bar area. This leads via a beautiful archway welcoming you to the grand living room which can easily accommodate any furniture set and entertainment system.

The fully renovated kitchen with large window and lots of storage space in the cherrywood cabinets, all stainless steel appliances including dishwasher.

Beautiful dining space in the kitchen can accommodate a table for six. Perfect for entertaining family and guests.

The large windows in the cross-ventilated bedroom allow the natural light to cascade into the room. The bedroom is greatly proportioned and can easily fit a king sized bed, dresser, and more . In the bedroom you will find the other two good-sized closets of this unit.

The Building is located on one of the loveliest blocks in all of Forest Hills with beautifully landscaped courtyards, not to mention one of the largest playgrounds in the area. If you have trouble seeing yourself in certain apartments and seeing how your things will fit make an appointment to see this one, designer style apartment!

This elevator building features a beautifully restored Art Deco lobby as well as recently replaced elevators and a bright and new card-operated laundry room. Building also boasts two live in superintendents with world-class service. You will not find a building that is kept as well as this one, you can literally eat off the floors!!! Garage and storage units are currently on a waitlist.

The Area: The building is located in prime section of Forest Hills right across the street from the Russell Sage Playground. The park offers a brand new kids section as well as a baseball diamond, running track, six basketball courts, racquetball courts and much more. You also are very close to the supermarket as well Starbucks, bagel shops, bakery, 24-hour grocery and 24 Hour Pharmacy. Two blocks to New York Sports Club gym and other Heath clubs are in the area as well.

The building is zoned for the highly coveted PS 144. Col. Jeremus Remsen elementary school which has a 5 star rating from greatschools.org. Junior High School 190 Russell Sage is across the street and Forest Hills High School a ten minute walk.

The property is walking distance to everything. The building has a “walkers paradise” designation from Walkscore and is only one block to the Queens Blvd. subway where you can catch the R & M. Trains about a 25 minute ride to Manhattan and you will always find a seat as it’s the first stop. (In fact the address has a 100 transit score) It is only a 8 minute walk to the 71-Continental Station (E, F,M & R) or the LIRR station and Forest Hills Gardens. You also have numerous express buses to East and West Midtown as well as the Financial District within 5 minutes.

Just a one block walk to the beginning of all the shopping on Austin Street this neighborhood is famous for.

This is a must see!!!

Forest Hills | Queens

Quick Profile

Nestled in the heart of Queens, Forest Hills is primarily a residential area that offers the calmness of suburban living alongside the whirl of the big city. The contrasts are sharp. Take a stroll through the idyllic Forest Hills Gardens and you’ll find tree-lined streets and homes with manicured lawns. Cross the LIRR train tracks that slice through this neighborhood and you’re in a different world, one dominated by apartment complexes that straddle both sides of Queens Boulevard, one of the busiest and widest commercial streets in the city.

Forest Hills is first and foremost a community that has stood the test of time. It is a haven for families, young adults and retirees alike. It’s the kind of place that you visit for an outdoor summer concert and never want to leave. Who wouldn’t find the low-rise Tudor styled apartment buildings along Tennis Place and Burns Street alluring.

Plainly put, one can get anywhere from Forest Hills in a reasonable amount of time. Accessible transportation is a core virtue and not surprisingly, the introduction of subway lines to Forest Hills in the mid 1930s changed the neighborhood forever. By 1940, the population swelled to 32,000, more than three times the local population just twenty years earlier. Today Forest Hills is home to about 85,000 people and transportation is a key checkbox. You can not only commute to Manhattan below ground, but above ground as well via the LIRR from Station Square. The LIRR can deliver you to Penn Station in 15 minutes or eastward toward the Long Island beaches in forty.

Forest Hills High School at 110th Street between 66th Road and 67th Road anchors the far northern edge of Forest Hills, covering multiple city blocks. Fanning out from the high school are entire blocks of tree-lined streets with single-family homes. In contrast to the Gardens, these blocks are a mix of older and newer homes, even some McMansions.

There are two main streets that run through Forest Hills. Austin Street is an endless retail strip of local and national stores, many of which seem to be carved out of the tudor buildings that they occupy. Restaurants are aplenty and reflect the diverse cuisine of the neighborhood’s inhabitants. Queens Boulevard, once deemed the “most dangerous road in America,” is a 12-lane road (could be as wide as 16 lanes in some places) that represents the impact and consequences of urban sprawl. Queens Boulevard is literally a 7.5 mile sprint to and from the city through the heart of Queens.

As can be expected, the older variety of multi-family buildings in Forest Hills are largely low-rise prewars, typically five and six stories. They are split between co-ops and rental buildings. The newer post-war buildings, have grown taller as housing needs have changed. Most of these high-rise structures align Queens Boulevard and stand from 20 to 30 stories tall.
