Property Description for 77 East 12th Street, 19-E

NO BOARD APPROVAL REQUIRED - FIRST RESALE - This is an original owner apartment listed for the first time! Perched on a high floor and for the first time on the market for sale, unit #19E is a large 3-Bedroom. 2-Bath home featuring beautiful, open city views (south, west and north) which include iconic buildings such as the Chrysler building, the Empire State building, the Woolworth building, Grace Church, and Broadway looking south. The apartment is very bright and airy. Unit #19E resulted from a combination of the original E line which is a large 2-bedroom, 2-bath plus dining alcove, and part of the neighboring D line unit (which was once a large 1-Bedroom, 1-Bath). Combined, it resulted in an ideal, sprawling layout. This home offers a split bedroom layout featuring a primary suite with a newly renovated en-suite bath, one hallway bath, and large second and third bedrooms that features great closet space. The apartment also features a large, separate laundry room with house size washer and dryer units by Frigidaire. The dryer vents out. The laundry room is complete with a pantry and ample storage for cleaning supplies, tools, etc. The living room is expansive and bright (mainly facing South and West), featuring corner wraparound windows with amazing, open views of iconic Grace Church, of Broadway, down to the stunning Woolworth building, and of the village. There is a separate dining area as well as an open, windowed kitchen with a center island which features additional storage and counterspace. The kitchen features granite matte counters and stainless-steel appliances: a Liebherr refrigerator, a Samsung range, a KitchenAid dishwasher, and a Whirlpool built-in microwave. The en-suite, primary windowed bath features new ceramic tile throughout, a recently reglazed tub, new medicine cabinet and fixtures. The hallway bath is sleek, and it features a walk-in, glass enclosed marble tile shower with body jets. The bedrooms are very spacious and bright and all feature great closets. There are solid, hardwood floors throughout. 77 East 12 Street is a 20% down, full-service cooperative with very helpful and very friendly staff in one of the most desirable areas in Manhattan. Sublets are permitted after 2 year of owning; parents buying for children pied-a-terres are allowed - this is a flexible board. The building features a nice, inviting lobby, updated elevators, hallways, a live-in resident manager, and a bike room. There is also a roof deck with panoramic views of the city as well as a central laundry room. The location is central and most ideal, nearby everything Greenwich Village, Union Square, East Village have to offer. Close to the Union Square Farmer's Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, loads of shopping and dining. Near the 4,5,6, N, Q, R, L subway lines.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
