Graced with sublime finishes and a prime Greenwich Village location, this gut-renovated convertible 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom co-op is a chic portrait of contemporary city charm. And with just under 11ft ceilings, tall windows, and beautiful light during the day, the home has the feel of classic townhouse living. A welcoming foyer adorned with a spacious coat closet flows into a 35-ft long open-concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. The bedroom is large enough for a California king and features lovely built-in closets. Another sizeable storage closet sits at the end of the hall. The windowed full bathroom is adorned with a recessed medicine cabinet, a lighted makeup mirror, an energy-efficient toilet, and a luxurious walk-in rain shower. Features of the home include beautiful wide plank white oak floors, Venetian plaster walls, custom light fixtures, split-system AC, a Miele washer/dryer, a pair of wood-burning fireplaces with ceppio de grey slab stone floors, northern and eastern exposure, and a series of structural and mechanical upgrades like new wiring, gas, plumbing, radiators, sound insulation, and waterproofing. The Hampshire is a stunning full-service co-op located in the Gold Coast area of Greenwich Village. The 19th Century building has a full-time doorman, private storage, and a bicycle room, and it is moments from trendy restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
