Property Description for 345 Montgomery Street, 2-M

2M at 345 Montgomery Street is an exceptional, oversized 1 bedroom, with a flexible layout, and room to grow! This versatile home provides many options for living, including a very easy and spacious work-at-home environment.

Enter 2M into a proper foyer, equipped with coat closet and lots of space to store coats and shoes. Rich Pre-War details are noticed immediately, and include over 9-foot ceilings, picture moldings, and parquet & hardwood floors throughout. Head down the hallway to the very generous living room. This room is currently being utilized as a spacious living area, and a bedroom. With this almost 12' x 18' room, create the space that works best for you as you -- with a full living room; or add your dining area to living area, and create an office in windowed dining area. Add doors to the dining area, and easily convert to nursery as well! The dining area has a dedicated spot in the kitchen, and a comforting view. Pretty western light and trees grace the courtyard that dining room and living room overlook.

The windowed kitchen provides all you need for storage and display. A polished butcher block countertop sits atop warm, honey-colored wooden cabinets, creating a very relaxed and homey feel. Open shelving keeps all in reach, and colored backsplash tiles add playfulness and happiness to this kitchen. The bedroom currently serves as an office and child's room. This king-sized room also offers plenty of options. Create a very lavish bedroom with king-sized furniture or easily separate to add in an office set-up or work out corner. Afternoon sunlight streams through the trees, and over the top entrance of the building to create a dreamy bedroom. The windowed bathroom is cheerfully tiled in powder blue tiles, and an oversized tub offers a welcoming bath interlude. Closets are plentiful, and 2M offers room for so much furniture. Low maintenance here includes heat, hot water and electricity!

The Dearborn is rich in history, and lovingly known as the former hotel to the Brooklyn Dodgers. Cast iron doors and dramatic ceilings and floors welcome you into the grand and elegant lobby, and offers a lovely glimpse into its Art Deco beginnings. Additional oversized iron doors open to the common courtyard, adding to the glamour of the building. This pet friendly, elevator building offers bike storage and storage lockers for low monthly fees. A live-in super, and 2 porters are in place. Common laundry and mailroom / package room are off the lobby and easily accessible. This Crown Heights location is 3 blocks to Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and Prospect Park! Close to Brooklyn Museum and Grand Army Plaza. Enjoy plenty of restaurants and shopping on nearby Franklin and Nostrand Avenues. Just a few short blocks to trains 2/3/4/5, B/Q/S!

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
