Property Description for 15 Jones Street, 1-H

The West Village apartment you’ve always dreamt about? This is that apartment. The pièce de résistance of this dreamy one bedroom duplex: a massive, double-height window facing sunlit, tree-lined Jones Street. Fully renovated, this residence contains Quartzite countertops, SubZero refrigerator and freezer, and Grohe faucets. The first floor features an airy, sun-soaked living room with custom floor-to-ceiling bookshelves; dark-stained hardwood floors; exposed brick; a charming, bookshelf-bearing bannister; and, best of all, an upstairs bathroom for guests. Once you have two bathrooms, you’ll wonder how you ever lived with just one. The pristine kitchen features stainless steel appliances; a deep, under-mounted sink; white lacquered cabinetry; and granite windowsills. Midway between the first and second floors, a landing is a versatile nook that can be used for storage, seating, floral arrangements, books, or all of the above. The pin-drop-quiet bedroom has a custom-built closet and ample room for furniture and storage. The downstairs bathroom contains a vanity with under-sink storage and a shower/tub. Whitewashed brick makes everything feel and look bright and lovely. 15 Jones Street is an elevator building with live-in super, common laundry in basement, that is immaculately maintained and steps away from eight major subway lines. Pet friendly. As quaint as it is quiet—and it’s absolutely silent—Jones is the sixth-smallest street in New York City. This is one of the best apartments on one of the best streets in one of the city’s best neighborhoods. Blink and you’ll miss it!

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
