Property Description for 496 LaGuardia Place, PH-B

Renovated Penthouse Duplex CONDO 1.5 BR/1BA apartment with massive and sunlit private outdoor deck, historic character, tasteful renovations, outstanding light + NYC Skyline views, and extraordinarily low monthly costs. Located on the border of SoHo and Greenwich Village, this unique and beautiful loft-like home can be your peaceful oasis above it all.

Located in a well-kept boutique condominium in the epicenter of everything downtown, this bright and peaceful home is 4 flights up (no elevator) to the 5th floor. From that walk-up one earns wonderfully uncommon light, space, quiet, and privacy. The main room stretches over 23' long with 9'+ high ceilings, has 3 oversized windows facing SW, and offers a variety of layout options for your living + dining needs (the windowed alcove makes for an easy home office/guest room, etc., or simply leave it wide-open as is for an expansive lofty feel). The renovated open kitchen is open to the main room, and features stainless steel Avanti stove, stainless steel full-sized Frigidaire with separate freezer, custom white soft-close cabinetry with satin-nickel fixtures, concrete-gray quartz countertops with deep under-mount Dowell sink, polished glass tile backsplash, plenty of storage, slate tiled flooring, and a clever custom swing-arm butcher block countertop for added entertaining space. The bathroom is on this main floor and is tastefully finished with stone vanity top and under-mount sink, stainless steel fixtures, ceramic gray tile flooring, and full-sized tub. The living area offers attractive exposed brick on either end, custom built-in shelving, and outstanding light from a long wall of windows showcasing tree-tops and sky. Upstairs there is a large bedroom with a stunningly dramatic curved atrium-style wall of windows and 11+' high ceilings, offering complete privacy and wide-open sky views. This room easily accommodates a queen-sized bed, and has a built-in double closet. A few steps up brings you to the main-event surprise-jewel of this home, a massive (and completely private) decked outdoor roof area with unparalleled Soho and sunset views. With no neighboring buildings above, this terrace gets sunlight all day long, and offers brilliant views of uptown and downtown iconic buildings (in addition to amazing night views, incredible sunsets, etc.). Additional features to this top-floor unit (nobody above) include split-system central heat/A/C, exposed brick, and hardwood flooring throughout.

496 Laguardia Place is an intimate, safe, and very well-kept 5 story boutique condominium. This professionally managed Condominium is perfectly situated on the border of central Soho and Greenwich Village, only a few minutes' walk to all transportation, West Village, Nolita, Union Sq., East Village, Trader Joe's, and all the cafe's, restaurants, and wonderful shops that Soho and the Village have to offer. A+ location, investment, and place to call home.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
