Welcome to 475 Sterling Place, a sun-splashed, modern condominium at the epicenter of Brooklyn culture, community, and convenience. This sleek and modern home has all the amenities you could want, with a welcoming and friendly boutique condominium atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. Perched on a high third floor, every room of this two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium home faces south, so you’ll enjoy bright, direct sunlight all day, with an extra boost of morning light from the additional eastern exposure in the living room. While undoubtedly modern in its overall design, this warm glow of southern sunlight creates a serene, cozy, and inviting vibe. This provides a refreshing complement to the otherwise sleek and modern design elements such as floor-to-ceiling glass, modern fixtures, and a streamlined layout. The open-concept kitchen features stainless steel appliances including a Bosch dishwasher, custom shelving, and Corian countertops. Your primary bedroom is bright and airy, with plenty of space for a king-sized bed, plus tons of storage in the walk-in closet, which has been decked out with a custom shelving system. Head north a few paces and you’ll soon be in historic Clinton Hill. Spend a few Saturdays -- or a hundred -- exploring the endless shopping, dining, and the performing arts attractions in the nearby BAM Cultural District in DTBK and Fort Greene. Multiple transit options in any direction will ensure an easy morning commute to work or school. And you’ll have prime access to some of Brooklyn’s most beloved restaurants, such as Tom’s on Washington Avenue, Olmsted NYC on Vanderbilt Avenue, and Barboncino Pizza on nearby Franklin Avenue. This 45-unit, 5-story, elevator condominium was built from the ground up in 2006. Well-maintained, professionally managed, and financially sound, buyers for this condo will enjoy easy financing with multiple major mortgage lenders. The building features a part-time lobby attendant (M-F 5pm-midnight), video-intercom access, 24/7 video security, and a full-time superintendent. A spacious gym on the ground floor opens onto an enchanting common courtyard and garden behind the building. Residents also enjoy complimentary bike storage, and a landscaped, fully-furnished common roof deck upstairs on the top floor that offers panoramic views over South Brooklyn. Additional features of this move-in-ready home include a Bosch in-unit washer/dryer, oak strip hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings, and updated lighting. A 421-a tax abatement in effect until 2034 will keep your carrying costs low for years to come. Monthly common charges of $727.83 include high-speed internet, heat, hot water, and cooking gas. Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
