Property Description for 181 Hudson Street, 5-A

NEW TO MARKET -- LARGE, GORGEOUSLY RENOVATED 2-BEDROOM, 2-BATHROOM LOFT IN THE HEART OF TRIBECA

Welcome to 181 Hudson, Apartment 5A. This sleek and modern 1640 sq ft loft features 10' ceilings and eight oversized, tilt and turn windows that allow tons of light.

Located in the heart of TriBeCA, the loft's quiet, south- and west-facing layout is flexible (see alternate floor plan) and features a generous entrance foyer that flows seamlessly into the open living/dining room. The contemporary, open Chef's kitchen includes top-of-the-line appliances, including a wine fridge. A separate area off the foyer - with wonderful built-in shelving - could easily accommodate a home office. The bedrooms are sizable and light-filled with lots of closet space. The main bedroom sits on the quiet, cobblestoned Vestry Street. Both bathrooms are beautifully designed - including the en-suite main bathroom with double sink.

There are gorgeous hardwood floors throughout. This home also features a private, extra-large laundry/storage room -- with a full-size washer and dryer -- located directly across the hall from the apartment. The storage room is large enough for bikes, luggage and much more.

Built in 1909 and converted in 1984, 181 Hudson is a boutique condominium - conveniently located to Hudson River Park, SoHo, the West Village as well as some of the city's finest shopping and dining. The well-maintained building has a renovated lobby, video intercom security, secure package room, keyed elevators and two entrances. The second entrance features a large elevator for bikes or strollers. Near to the 1/A/C/E subway lines. Pets are case-by-case. Available immediately or January 1st (with condo board approval).

This property must be seen to be fully appreciated. Showings by appointment.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
