Property Description for 236 Palmetto Street

It's finally here! 236 Palmetto St, has been complete and is ready for you to be next owner!

Bushwick hasn't seen a house quite like this yet. A 4 story, 2 family townhouse with a layout and feel you haven't experienced yet. Configured as an owner's 4 BR 2.5 bath triplex with access to the garden over a 1BR rental unit, plus an incredible, completely open, finished basement.

The owner's triplex is like no other. A vibrant parlor is where you will host family and friends for meals and events, and spend most of your time. A clean and crisp kitchen design and layout make it perfect for that at home cook. Head on upstairs where you have 3 spacious bedrooms and one full bath on the 3rd floor. However, head up to the top floor where you find the jewel of the home. A lofted primary bedroom floor! A pamperous full bathroom awaits on that floor, equipped with a double vanity sink, a soak in tub and stand up shower! Not only that, the room has a gigantic north-facing terrace, with beautiful city views and perfect for that evening sunset.

Location is another perk of this home. Sitting in between Wilson and Knickerbocker Ave, all the best retail and parks Bushwick have to offer is walking distance away. Irving Square is a short 8 min walk as well Bushwick Playground. Love to eat? Neighborhood stables like Nacho Macho Taco, Alex Luncheonette, Fazio, Father Knows Best, Tony's and other retail along Knickerbocker Ave. Proximity to the train is another benefit, only a short walk to the Myrtle Wyckoff M and L train.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
