Property Description for 860 United Nations Plaza, 15-F

Renovated to perfection, this highly coveted Southwest corner home is located on the 15th floor of the historic 860 United Nations Plaza. This three bed and three bath home was designed by architect Silvia Zofia of SZ Projects and boasts dramatic wall-to-wall windows in every room where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the East River and Manhattan skyline. The gracious floor plan offers a welcoming entry foyer, large living and dining areas, as well as 12 inch wide seamless oak floors throughout. The stunning windowed kitchen features a custom banquete and high end European appliances such as a Smeg gas cooktop range, Verona oven, Liebherr refrigerator and Bosch dishwasher. Additional features include Caesarstone countertops, custom wood cabinets, open shelving and painted glass backsplash. The elegant South facing master bedroom offers California closets including a large walk in, 'black tie' and separate shoe closets. Carrera marble tiles are featured in the luxurious ensuite master bathroom and the two additional baths. The oversized second bedroom is also South facing and features California closets. The third bedroom has been beautifully designed as a home office/den, and features a walnut veneer wall, inspired by the building's iconic lobby, along with custom built-in cabinetry and a filing system. Erected in 1966 by master architects Wallace Harrison & Max Abramovitz, UN Plaza is one of New York City’s modernist classic residential buildings, surpassing the most demanding expectations for luxury near the heart of midtown Manhattan. Utilities and window washing is included in the monthly maintenance. Large Storage Unit Included. Pet friendly.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
