Property Description for 628 East 14th Street, 10

New to the market! Peaceful and welcoming, this sweet one bedroom apartment in the heart of the East Village is full of old world charm. Walk up two flights and enter a pre-war style railroad apartment with an open kitchen, a small dining area, and a large renovated bathroom. The large bedroom has two windows, a huge walk-in closet, and French doors that separate the space from an additional room that can be used as a work from home office, or a living room. Built in 1920, this row of well maintained pre-war buildings became cooperatives in the late 1980’s. Centrally located to everything that the East Village has to offer, but situated on a quiet street with ample parking. Close to all public transportation on 14th Street, and six blocks away, Union Square offers many subway lines. Within walking distance to Tompkins Square Park, tons of cafés, restaurants and boutiques, and a stone’s throw away from the East River park and bike path, Trader Joe’s, Target, and Whole Foods. Dry cleaner and laundromat are right downstairs. This is a perfect apartment for a first-time buyer. The low monthly maintenance includes: heat, water, gas, real-estate taxes, and building maintenance. Pied-a-terre and parents co-purchasing is allowed. Amenities include: Intercom access, common back-yard/BBQ area & bicycle room. Live-in-super means the building is exceptionally maintained! Pets are okay with approval.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
