Property Description for 225 Cornelia Street, GARDEN

Welcome to 225 Cornelia Street, #1, a beautiful 2 bedroom, 1 bath garden apartment in fast-growing Bushwick. The massive living room has enough space to accommodate a full entertainment center, desk/office area, and dining area that can easily fit at least 4 people. The entire building was completely gut-renovated only 6 years ago, and the beautiful character of exposed brick and two decorative fireplaces were preserved. The apartment was well taken care of by the previous tenants. The fully equipped kitchen has a great 4-burner range and oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, and full-size fridge. Although the kitchen has plenty of storage and counter space, you can add a mobile center island for even more surface and storage. Both bedrooms are at the back of the apartment, off the garden and removed from the street. Central heating with air ducts throughout the apartment make sure all the rooms benefit from the heating and A/C. You will also have semi-private access to the garden/patio in the backyard, with enough space for a couple of lounge chairs and table.

Access to transportation is excellent, with the L train at Wilson Avenue, the J and Z at Gates Avenue, and the M train at Knickerbocker Avenue. Citibike stations are abundant. The neighborhood is growing, with the likes of Faro, General Irving Coffee Shop, Sunrise/Sunset Cafe, and Roberta's all close by. If you need more green space, you'll find plenty of it at Irving Square Park and Maria Hernandez Park.

This home won't last long on the market, so book an appointment TODAY to come see it! Up to 2 cats allowed. Sorry, no dogs. No smoking permitted anywhere on premises.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
