Property Description for 55 Vestry Street, 6-C

Chic Simplicity Attention to detail is always the differentiator. Every inch of this exquisite four-bedroom home has been brilliantly appointed with the finest craftsmanship and detail after undergoing a comprehensive renovation. The optimal layout combined with the exquisite design and iconic TriBeCa views, make this home a true treasure. The private keyed elevator offers the feel of discreetness and privacy and welcomes you into the lavish foyer, which features bespoke millwork with antique brass detailing. The expansive living, dining and kitchen spans an impressive 40’ wide, and is accentuated by 10’ ceilings with three majestic, arched windows, identifiable only with quintessential TriBeCa proper. The kitchen serves as the centerpiece of the living area, featuring a magnificent island crafted from the quartzite Madreperola, imported from Antolini, Italy. Minotti inspired bronzed glass cabinets with European UV installed hinges, custom stained veneer and Poggenpohl lacquered cabinetry with Nanz hardware, and a Wolf range, are just a few more details which execute the kitchen design to perfection. For wine connoisseurs, there is a custom designed 300-bottle temperature-controlled wine cellar adjacent to the kitchen, encased in incredible smoked glass and painted cork wallpaper. A true art piece which adds such a heightened design element to the Great Room! Another over-sized arched window lures you into the master bedroom which offers a tranquil oasis for relaxation. A custom built, state-of-the-art walk-in closet will accommodate any accessory lover. The master bathroom is detailed with rare Gold Calcutta marble, German painted steel sinks, Dornbracht fixtures, a customized sound system and lighting, and a Hansgrophe overhead water sculpture with three separate settings. Down the hallway are three additional bedrooms and two additional bathrooms. One of the bedrooms, currently designed as a comfortable family room, includes a built-out large closet transformed into a generously sized home office. A major bonus feature of this room is the ever so important terrace, with Italian outdoor porcelain tiling to match the interior Siberian floors. No detail overlooked is proven once again here. The apartment is engineered by a state-of-the-art Savant system, which provides controlling capabilities of the lighting, temperature, media, Lutron shades, and video security from anywhere in the world. 10.5” Siberian Russian white oak flooring throughout, compliment the grandeur of this home. Located in prime Tribeca, the Northwest Historical quadrant, in an exclusive boutique full-service building, this home is truly a work of art which will not disappoint.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
