Property Description for 333 East 41st Street, 6-D

Discover the quaint urban oasis that is Tudor City. This airy one bedroom home is uniquely situated in one of the city's best kept secrets - the first residential skyscraper development in the world, in Tudor Revival architecture, built in 1926. With no through streets and the idyllic Tudor City Park, you will feel right at home, away from the bustle of the city, and yet, right in the heart of it. And what's more is that the apartment, itself, is pretty awesome, too. With 10.5 foot ceilings, including dramatic 7.5ft of windows in the main room and a wood-burning fireplace, as well as the greenscaped view of the park, this top-floor lovely unit is just begging you home. Recent renovations include high-end applications (such as the coveted Bertazzoni range), hand-cut, hand-painted tiles in the kitchen and bath, rain shower, and custom built-ins. 333 East 41st Street (aka Prospect Hill), is one of the smaller buildings in the historic development, so it's very intimate and friendly with a well-run Board and super sound finances. The building has undergone some recent renovations, so that's all done and paid for. And the building is pet-friendly, on a case by case basis. Well-maintained laundry is in the basement, and there's a live-in super. 30% down payment required. The sellers are very sad to leave their happy home, but hope to hand it off to someone new to give it the love it deserves!

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
