Property Description for 155 West 11th Street, 14-A

Large, high floor Greenwich Lane 4-bedroom prized South-West corner home with private outdoor space, three exposures of light, and panoramic, protected views. Classic attributes are incorporated into this contemporary beauty perched on a human altitude at the intersection of the West Village and Greenwich Village. Superb light and views are embraced via large floor-to-ceiling windows that don't ignore the need for important art walls too. The elevator opens into a gracious private vestibule entry that leads to the arrival gallery. You are immediately drawn to the grandly scaled 40-foot living room with Juliette balconies facing south, entering on center, and perfect for elegant entertaining and living.  The large adjoining eat-in kitchen benefits from direct access to a balcony, the ideal spot for your morning coffee. The adjoining chef's eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Miele appliances, and features custom walnut-paneled cabinetry complemented by elegant grey marble countertops and backsplashes. It too benefits from exceptional light and views as well as direct access to the sunny balcony. The corner Primary Bedroom Suite features floor-to-ceiling windows with south and east exposures, an expansive expertly outfitted walk-in closet, and a spacious windowed bathroom fully clad in white and grey marble. This light-filled bathing sanctuary is appointed with fine custom millwork, exquisite marble mosaic detailing, a glass-enclosed shower, and radiant heated floors.  The secondary bedrooms include generous closets and en-suite bathrooms with equally impressive marble detailing. A gracious powder room with marble mosaic floor and custom lighting. A service hallway houses the laundry with a full-sized LG washer and a fully vented dryer. Throughout the apartment, gleaming oak hardwood floors and 6" baseboards are featured as well as a four-pipe HVAC system with zoned climate control for full year-round flexibility.  This condominium building, one of the most desired of all Manhattan's fine addresses, features a full suite of services and amenities including a 24-hour concierge and maintenance services, access to The Greenwich Lanes state-of-the-art fitness center, including a 75-foot swimming pool, whirlpool, steam rooms, golf simulator, and treatment rooms all managed by La Palestra. There is also a central garden and reflecting pool, residents' lounge, dining room with chef's kitchen, a luxurious 21-seat screening room, Roto-designed playroom, and bicycle and cold storage. Conveniently located on the borderline of the West Village and Greenwich Village, everything that Downtown Manhattan delivers is within moments of your front door, including the New Whitney Museum in the Meatpacking District, the Highline Park, Hudson River Park, Chelsea Art Gallery District, and every imaginable restaurant, transportation, and entertainment option. This is truly a 10-minute neighborhood with everything at your disposal that fully embraces an authentic New York experience unlike any other.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
