Property Description for 80 Gold Street, 2-B

Largest two bedroom layout in all of Southbridge Towers! About 250 square feet larger than other two bedrooms in the complex, this home also benefits from a shocking 47 linear feet of closets and built-ins! All of this comes with an incredibly low monthly maintenance charge of $783 which includes all utilities. Gut renovated several years ago, this West-facing home is perhaps the best two bedroom value in all of Downtown. Not only is the living area an enormous 20' x 14', there is also a 10.5' x 8' separate dining area. The kitchen was renovated and opened up so that the common areas feel even more voluminous. The chefs' kitchen features a generous amount of counter space as well as high-end full-sized stainless steel appliances and plenty of storage including a floor to ceiling pantry. The master bedroom is an enormous 15'9 x 14' which is one of the largest in all of Southbridge Towers. The secondary bedroom is also a very generous 10' x 14' allowing for a king sized bed and a considerable amount of furniture. And once again, this apartment benefits from more closet space than almost any other home Downtown available right now within the price range. Southbridge Towers is one of Downtown's hottest co-op's, not only for the generous size of the apartments and very competitive pricing, but also for the extraordinarily low maintenance (which includes all utilities). This apartment also has direct access to a parking garage where shareholders receive preferential pricing. And there are also auxiliary storage spaces on the same floor. Southbridge Towers is located in prime FiDi, steps from the lively nightlife and restaurants of the Seaport and Tribeca, and very close to the city's most-useful transportation such as the A, C, E, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, R, W, J, and Z trains.

Seaport District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Seaport District sits between the Financial District to the south and the Brooklyn Bridge to the north. The original Seaport designation was limited to the streets east of Water Street from Fletcher Street to Dover Street and incorporated the actual Seaport and the piers. But no more. Today, the neighborhood boundaries have expanded westward toward Park Row and include a surge of new developments in the area around Pace University and City Hall Park.

This is not your father’s Seaport. It is no longer a commercial hub and the seafood industry, which operated out of the port for nearly two hundred years, has been displaced. The older low-rise buildings that line these cobblestoned streets have been repositioned, the SouthBridge towers complex to the east of Water Street has gone free market, multiple commercial buildings have been converted to residential usage and new gleaming residential towers are rising on the site of the iconic J&R Music World which once lined the east side of Park Row.

Still, the Seaport is a small neighborhood, particularly quaint just north of Beekman Street. The streets are dominated by century-old warehouses and maritime buildings which gives the neighborhood its overt character. The Brooklyn Bridge, on its northern edge, looms in the backdrop.
