Property Description for 33 Fifth Ave, 8-D

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village’s Gold Coast, #8D at 33 Fifth Avenue is a turn-key, designer renovated corner 1BR/1BA home with classic details and carefully considered upgrades in one of Lower Fifth’s most coveted pre-war co-op buildings. With over 9’ beamed ceilings throughout, along with beautifully restored oak herringbone floors, and three exposures - the quiet and gracious apartment offers generous and efficient proportions with extraordinary volume of space. While all the coveted and unique pre-war characteristics are inherent to the home, no expense was spared in the just completed renovation. Ranging from the lesser seen but high import new electrical and added washer/dryer to the more obvious custom cabinetry, top-of-the-line appliances and fixtures, as well as custom built-ins and premium finishes. This home has been expertly designed and carefully considered to maximize style, aesthetics and efficiency Just off of the welcoming entry foyer is a massive living room, with double windows facing West toward Lower Fifth Avenue, is perfect for entertaining and ample enough to double as both living and dining. The charming picture frame moldings and beamed ceilings seamlessly meet the chic and handsome floor to ceiling custom built-in at the rear wall of the living room. No detail was overlooked with the built-in – hand painted in Benjamin Moore Onyx with brass and gold hardware, sconces and lighting – featuring a dedicated work from home station as well as a custom bar with integrated wine storage. The south facing, double-window chef’s kitchen has been meticulously renovated top to bottom maximizing storage space and efficiency. The kitchen is picture perfect with full-height custom cabinetry from Florense, Silestone countertops with full slab backsplash, Waterworks brass sink fixtures, and Belgian bluestone flooring to round it out. Good looks are paired with top of the line appliances - Subzero refrigerator, Wolf range, Miele dishwasher, and under-counter Miele washer & dryer. The corner bedroom has double exposures, south and east, with open views overlooking Greenwich Village. Large enough for a king-sized bed, the bedroom also offers plentiful and dynamic storage space with a custom wall-to-wall California Closet with built-in dresser and vanity. Just off the bedroom, the windowed bathroom was just gut renovated and finished with designer fixtures and lighting, Tuscan stone flooring, Calacatta Gold marble and a suite of polished nickel Waterworks fixtures. In a prime location just blocks from Washington Square Park in the Greenwich Village Historic District, 33 Fifth Avenue is a 16-story boutique pre-war co-op building with just 60 apartments. The full-service building features a full-time doorman and elevator operator, a live-in superintendent, common laundry, bike storage, and as well as common and private storage. Pets are allowed upon board approval. Subletting permitted for a period of 2 years within a 5 year period after a year of ownership. There is a current assessment of $93.60 per month. Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
