Two blocks away from Madison Square Park; in-between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South.

This triple-mint 2-3 bedroom duplex penthouse with private roof garden displays utmost sophistication with harmonious flow for perfect living and entertaining in the heart of upcoming NoMad.

The keyed private elevator landing opens into an elegant reception gallery. A gracious living room with three oversized windows and abundance of southern daylight offers high views of 28th Street. The open dining area with cove lighting close to the kitchen provides a wonderful entertainment ambiance. A windowed large chef's kitchen with dining bar features custom cabinetry, Italian Calacatta marble counters with backsplash and high performance, fully integrated SubZero and Gaggenau appliances.

This flawlessly designed home by Alan Tanksley, offers integrated touch pad controls for lighting, window treatments, sound, and temperature modulation. Unique 11'2" ceilings throughout and an abundance of wall-art space extend an incredibly generous living experience.

Down the 20-foot long extra wide gallery, you first find the home office / guest room / bedroom with custom millwork and an integrated wall safe. The windowed powder room, formerly a full bathroom, with a vented Bosch washer/dryer lies just steps into the gallery. At the end of the hallway, you enter a graciously scaled king-sized bedroom with oversized windows privately facing the Rose Hill on 29th Street. The luxurious windowed en-suite bathroom features a dual vanity, Waterworks fixtures, radiant heated floors, a six-foot long soaking tub, and a walk-in glass-enclosed spa shower.

A sweeping staircase leads to the penthouse level, which features the primary bedroom suite, and a 12 foot high expanse of floor to ceiling clerestory windows that wrap around the facade. The windowed full bathroom offers a glass enclosed shower, radiant heated floors and a marble vanity.
The expansive terrace is the ideal spot for urban private outdoor living, gardening, dining or entertaining. For additional outdoor space and as a further extension of the penthouse, the common roof garden is easily accessible from the home's upper level.

This NoMad home comes with two additional storage rooms in the basement. Verizon Fios is wired throughout the apartment. The monthly real estate taxes reflect a primary residence tax abatement.

31 East 28th Street is a full-service, 21 unit boutique condominium which provides the convenience of a 24-hour doorman/concierge, and on-call superintendent. The Parkwood is ideally located in one of the most accessible, dynamic and upcoming neighbourhoods of Manhattan just moments from world-class dining (Madison Eleven, Eataly, Cote), shopping (Whole Foods, Eataly, Fifth Avenue) and hospitality options (Ritz-Carlton Flagship Hotel, The Edition, Nomad Hotel).

NoMad | Manhattan

Quick Profile

NoMad, North of Madison Square Park, is a rectangular swath of land that is bordered by East 25th Street to the south, East 29th Street to the north, Sixth Avenue to the west, and depending who you ask, Madison or Lexington Avenue to the East. It’s had its acronymed name for over two decades but not every New Yorker calls the neighborhood NoMad.

Historic architecture, trendy hotels and restaurants and high-priced apartments - NoMad wasn’t always the coveted neighborhood that it is today. It’s gone through many transformations over the years. Including a red light district known as the Tenderloin in the 1880’s. It was a popular shopping destination and a place where high society held court in the mid 19th century. It was part of New York City’s Silicon Alley in the 1990’s.

As of lately, world class chefs and restaurants have moved into NoMad. It’s tied with Midtown Manhattan for having the most Michelin stars (six stars to date). Besides NoMad’s architecture, nightlife, and restaurants, we can’t forget the added perk of being close to other great neighborhoods and cultural institutions. NoMad’s central location makes it easier to get just about anywhere in the city. You can walk to Chelsea, West Village, Union Square or Grand Central Station in no time at all. The N, R, 1, 6, B, Q, F, and M are very close or just a few blocks away. Penn Station is also within walking distance.
